Health and safety Assignment UV2043 1. State the importance of personal presentation and hygiene in the salon.

Professional cleanliness presentation and hygiene is very important in the salon because as a beauty therapist you are promoting beauty products and treatments to clients and it gives a good professional image.
It is also important to avoid cross infection and cross contamination keeping yourself and the client safe by having good personal hygiene and a good clean work area as well as clean sanitised tools.
Good hygiene a beauty therapist is a must as you often work physically hard in warm surroundings close to clients bad odour and bad breath can be offensive and can lead to clients being offended and not revisiting the salon so it is important to be clean showered bathed etc. but with no strong perfumes as this can also be offensive.
Clean ironed correct uniform gives a good professional image and is also for the safety of both clients and yourself for example when waxing being around body fluids (PPE) aprons should be worn to prevent cross infection a clean apron should be worn for each client and disposed of correctly when finished.
A new clients first impression in visual so it is important to get it right hair should be tied back neat off the face
,the till should be locked and the salon should be locked when cashing up takings also the till should be regularly monitored as well as equipment and stock ,stock checks and monitoring is important. Any security breaches incidents of missing belongings
