Margaret Rouse of Techtarget.com defines project scope as the part of project planning that involves determining and documenting a list of specific goals, deliverables, tasks, costs, and deadlines. She further explains that the documentation of a project’s scope is called a scope statement, terms of reference, or statement of work and explains the boundaries of the project, establishes responsibilities for each team member and sets up procedures for how completed work will be verified and approved. Stating all of this information within the project scope helps the development team to stay on track of what they are to complete and in what bounds they are allowed to do so.…

    1. Brenda was called an exceptional employee before the company underwent changes. The changes required more telecommuting and positional autonomy in Brenda’s position. The new responsibilities were added to her job description without any discussion of the expectations by her superiors. Brenda’s manager did not evaluate her fairly due to the fact the he did not previously determine her requirements, so that she could do it to the best of ability. The evaluation of the newer responsibilities of her job was less than satisfactory, even though she had been given no guidelines. Brenda and Martin can reach a satisfactory result, but only if both are willing to compromise, until then this is unfair judgment.…

“Green” may mean different things to different groups. To adopt any Green initiative, a greater understanding of our carbon footprint – in our homes, our businesses, our supply and value chains – is essential. Intense monitoring and heavy number crunching are required. Information and Communications Technology (ICT or IT) is called into play. “IT” is in a unique position with respect to Greening, viewing it from two perspectives: Greening the IT departments of organizations (Green IT); using IT Tools to make other industries environment friendly (IT for Green). IT’s role in Greening is of growing importance. Though recent data tags IT with just 2% of global emissions, it is an industry that is growing rapidly, at around 6%per annum. The second factor is that for the industries that generate the remaining 98% share of emissions – transportation, heavy industry, etc - IT can help mitigate carbon footprint. TCS Innovation Forum in the UK , focused on “Green”, a key R&D theme at TCS. Participants from across industries were asked to present the problem areas they are looking at, the control measures they are considering, the behavioural changes they would like to bring in, in taking forward their Green plans.…

According to the textbook, performance management system is defined as "a continuous process of identifying, measuring, and developing the performance of individuals and teams and aligning performance with the strategic goals of the organization" (Aguinis, 2013, p. 2). Meaning, performance management requires a constant monitoring of employee performance in order to ensure company goals and policies are being met. A good performance management system works towards the improvement of the overall organizational performance by managing the performances of teams and individuals for ensuring the achievement of the overall organizational ambitions and goals. But not until late at Omega, Inc., there was not performance management system in place. The network of franchise owners agreed to work together to implement a performance management system to help improve the performance of sales representatives. Prior to the development of the performance management system, Omega faced challenging situations because it did not have control over the people working for the independent dealerships. It was the performance of these individuals that dictated Omega’s sales success. Another issue was that there was no clear understanding of the role of the sales representatives and there was not formal sales process in place. The franchise owners conducted a job analysis of the role of the sales representatives, wrote a job description, and distributed it to all sales representatives. The owners also adopted a franchise-wide mission statement based primarily on the need to provide high-quality customer service. As a second step, the managers set performance goals for each employee. Then, all sales representatives attended extensive training sessions. Another problem at the…
