Greenhouse gases

The greenhouse effect in is the entrapment of the sun’s heat energy in the earth’s atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane, and nitrous oxides are all gases that contribute to this phenomenon. Carbon dioxide is the most abundant greenhouse gas while water vapor the least harmful gas makes up less than one percent of the gases in the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases are produced naturally by the earth for example carbon dioxide, and methane is produced from the waste of animals and humans. Under normal circumstances the earth would be able to remove these gases from the atmosphere. Unfortunately humans have accelerated the rates at which these gases are produced and also remove the natural organisms that remove them from the air for example though deforestation trees that would normally take in carbon dioxide are being cut down and releasing carbon dioxide in that process; paired with the increase of cars that produce carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Scientist is cautionary to the greenhouse effect because it may lead to climate change in the form of global warming. The climate change that the earth has seen is most apparent in the natural disasters we have had, where there have been more intense natural disasters in the past ten years than the earth has previously experienced. Global warming is changing multiple aspects of the natural cycles of the organisms on earth such as plants are flowering earlier than usual. As plants are blooming earlier, the insects that would spread the seeds for the plant would have less time to do this process of reproduction, causing a decrease in the plants population leading to less food for the organisms that eat the plant. Plants are important sources of food, research and sources of medicine for humans. Global warming also plays a huge role in the destruction of many animals’ habitats, such as the polar bears.
