PUNJAB AGRO JUICES LIMITED INTRODUCTION Punjab Agro Juices Limited was established as a special purpose vehicle by Govt .of Punjab in February 2006 to set up two multi fruit processing units at Hoshiarpur & Abohar. These plants are the first of its kind plants in the world to process different varieties of citrus as well as tropical fruits & vegetables like Tomato, Carrot, Melon, Mango, Guava, Pear, Sweet Gourd, Bitter Gourd, Aloevera and Amla etc. These plants are equipped to switch from one raw material to another in 4-5 hours time. These plants are also the only plants in India to de-bitter the fruit juices such as Kinnows & Mosambi etc. These projects were conceived by the state government: • To provide support for both existing Kinnow growers as well as new citrus growers by developing de-bittering technology. • To support small and marginal farmers of respective areas to grow seasonal fruits & vegetables and thereby earn higher incomes. • To support Punjab’s fruit & vegetable production that is characterized by short harvesting seasons and high productivity. • To select a breakthrough technology that could handle different types of fruits & vegetables to optimize capacity utilization of the plants to make processing commercially competitive. PLANT & MACHINERY Critical plant & machinery for these plants have been procured from CFT SpA of Italy, who are amongst the top three reputed international food engineering companies. Know how for de-bittering process has been developed by Mitsubishi, while the process engineering for the same has been done by CFT SpA.

Each processing plant is equipped to operate for a minimum of 300 days in a year and process app. 80000 Mts of different fruits & vegetables per annum. The processing plants can handle pulp & store all the concentrates & single strength juices at one facility. Product capacity in terms of fruit juice concentrates, pulps & pastes at 100 % capacity utilization would be app. 12000 Mts .These products are
