Messages In The Film: Miss Representation
In the film, Miss Representation, the media sends messages that women’s and girl’s power, values and worth lies in their youth, appearance and sexuality and not how successful they are as leaders. The film is incredibly striking and powerful because it was an eye opening and shows that the media had a great impact in our society and what kind of messages is being sends to young females. These messages that young females get from the media can be very dangerous because it can act upon their minds, emotions and lives on how they should be when they get older.
Reality TV shows, music, and magazine are the elements that the film highlighted. During the film, I was really angry because I believe that beauty is with us. We do not need to compare

    Women are constantly unrealistically portrayed; they are objectified and hyper sexualized in the media. The documentary features the difficulties women have to go through when their ideals are unobtainable and the pressure they feel when people want them to look a certain way. These images allow women to think that their body is the only voice they have, it’s the only tool to identify themselves and that this is their worth.
