My Best Educational Experience
Faryal Khan
May 21, 2013
WA #2 “Educational experiences are important stages in our lives” (Unknown). College life is all about looking for a balance in life, between work and fun. Starting college was the most important thing I have ever experienced in my entire life as it provided me with an opportunity to learn new things such as being independent, new culture, friends and a chance to study and make my dreams come true. Thus, my best educational experience was when I first started college.
College culture is full of peer influences. With the rampant wild parties, female and male friends everywhere and the urge of not wanting to attend the classes. Keeping up with college is not an easy task because one is always torn between having fun and maintaining focus concerning the class work. For me adapting to college life is not a hard task after all, it all depends on your priorities and the way you balance your preferences.
It is usually difficult trying to make time for new friends in a new environment including college where we have all sorts of people with different characters, some good and others bad. The worst part of it is that you cannot differentiate the good or bad at the first sight or interaction. Choosing your friends is one of the most challenging tasks in a new environment. However, it is difficult to trace good friends and the fear of joining a bad company is also instilled. The friends you choose ultimately determine your lifestyle. It is usually known that bad friends influence you in the wrong way and similarly good friends influence you in the right way. It is unfortunate that you cannot evaluate a person you are first meeting in a new environment.
Along with making new friends, there are many different aspects affiliated with college life. In college, you have to always be on top of your game and keep up with all your class work, homework and/or projects. I have realized college is not just about fun and games. It requires you to work

A good way to get through college is with friends. You can meet plenty of people while you are getting your degree. The best way to do that is getting involved. Your college experience is only as good as you make it. Join a club, talk to classmates, and be kind and respectful to everyone. The simplest way to put it is to be social. Don’t be afraid to talk to people. There’s no need to beat yourself up if someone doesn’t want to talk back you, it’s probably not in his or her nature to talk in general. Even though you may have a million other things going on, it's important to remind yourself why you're in college in the first place: to graduate. Your academic work should always come first when it comes to managing your time. Also a great way to manage time is plan ahead. Write down that you have homework due or put an alarm on your phone for your 9:30 class.…
