I can help someone improve their coordination and balance by helping him/her balance using parallel bars with me standing right behind him/her, the patient will shift the weight between the right and left legs in a swaying motion. I'll help him/her improve muscle strength by standing in front of him/her, both of us are using a 5 lb. or 10 lb. weight and moving it parallel with our body up and down, increasing our strength and endurance. I'll provide a demonstration for him/her how to hold onto the parallel bars shifting the weight side to side, from front to back, while standing in front of him/her. I would not like to supervise anyone, however supervision isn't a possible position in this field, especially if you're an assistant. This particular career includes a set schedule and certain hours, most therapists generally work a day shift from 8 am - 5 pm. The characteristic I'd need to work on is patience, I've got to be honest, I am a bit impatient at times, I'm working on it. Being a physical therapy assistant you must be a caring, mature, patient, and a helpful person if you're not, then this field probably isn't the best choice for someone without those
