Personal Narrative: My Trip To Key West
I will never forget my trip to Key West. It started off with a long tiring drive. We were ready to sit on the beach on the last week of summer. So we all thought it would be worth the wait but, little did we know the troubles amoung us. It was a long tri 10 hours almost, it was a long bridge with water on both sides. Soon enough lightning striked and the water jumped like a flying fish, water soon crowded on the road. Thankfully we were 16 minutes away. Suddenly my mom's car stopped and no one knew why. Everyone in front of us started getting out of there cars. We waited there for 10 minutes and suddenly my mom's friend started crying, she said that she was scared of water and lightning. I was so tired of her, my ears felt

When I first stepped foot on the beach, I seen a massive red and white beach ball; spelling out Pensacola Beach. A flock of seagulls soared to shore to search for food. People at the beach were blasting music out of cooler, and dancing. I positioned my rear-end in my lounge chair, while drinking a Virgin…

One of the oldest questions in philosophy is whether humans have free will. When I look in retrospective, my journey to Miami makes me wonder is everything predetermined. Ever since I was a kid, I had vivid dreams about a sunny beach, soft golden sand, palm’s waterfall, and beautiful girl who will love me unconditionally.…

I never realized how lucky I was to be granted such a stupendous life until I saw the poverty some people live in. Over the summer, I was fortunate enough to be able to take an ephemeral trip to Nassau, Bahamas. It was much different than I imagined it would be. I remember walking around and almost being frighten to leave my parents sides. There were natives on every street corner trying to con their way into you spending money on their fake product; there were people going through the trash looking for food; there were people sitting on the street with all their belongings tied up to their bicycle street. You could just tell this country was nowhere near as advanced as the United States. It was nothing like the pictures and it got me thinking of the gloomy lives these children will have to grow up in and all the opportunities that they don't have available here.…

Imagine starting a race twenty minutes after the other participant, this gives them a head start hence lowering your chances to vanquish your opponents in the race. This example applies to real-life issues like the people born in high and stable economic situations. Their probability to succeed in life is higher than those indigenous from third-world countries. Panama faces this problem and I have no doubt a change can be achieved and I can be the one who does it because everyone deserves the chance to succeed if they try hard. During last year, I had the chance to be elected as coach and teach a group of teenage boys, the fundamentals of soccer; what I did not realize was that this experience was going to change me completely.…

For the first and last few days of my trip to Haiti, I will be staying with a house family in Delmas 83. Their house is roughly a twenty minute drive from the Port-au-Prince International Airport and around a forty minute drive from the orphanage I will be volunteering at. There are many museums, markets, craft villages, art galleries, restaurants, and shops local to the areas that I plan on staying in throughout my trip. There, I can meet and talk with individuals native to Haiti.…

Arriving safely in Florida felt amazing. My mom had told me my aunt and uncle would be waiting to pick me up and drive me to their house. They had a guest bedroom waiting to be my room for the whole summer. I said bye to my new friend Jaden and got off the plane. I made sure I had all of my luggage and that nothing has been removed. I walked to where my aunt and uncle said they would meet me. I was new to this airport so it was hard for me to find where anything was. I eventually ended up finding them of course, but I had to ask several people for…

Towards the end of 1989, my family and I were on vacation in Fort Myers, Florida. We drove from Trenton, New Jersey all the way to Florida where my grandfather lived. It was a long trip to undergo, especially being six years old and knowing that my father never stopped the car. By the time we arrived at Fort Myers, it was a beautiful sunny day. The wind was gusting enough to pull my hair back, and I was admiring the palm trees, coconuts, and lizards near the Gulf of Mexico. The first few days were nice, but little did I know that I would soon be caught in the middle of a twister.…
