The Stock Market
The stock market is a very important variable in the economy. The stock market is where shares or stock are issued and traded either through exchanges or over-the-counter markets. It is also known as the equity market, it is one of the most vital areas of a market economy as it provides companies with access to capital and investors with a slice of ownership in the company and the potential of gains based on the company's future performance. The three companies I invested in my stock project were Yahoo, Oracle, and Vanguard 500. At the end of the project, I found out that I had made a 5% return. I was very positive about my results and I believed that I could invest in the market in the real world. The stock market can be looked as a money-maker by some or a robbery. Investments should be made to provide everyone with extra spending money and financial well-being. I would invest in the stock market because I truly believe that I can make a decent profit with the right amount of research and timing.

The first company that came to my mind when I started my investment was Yahoo. According to a recent article, Yahoo stock will eventually double its value in just three years. Advertising companies looked to Yahoo to provide their ads. Yahoo's biggest rivals are Google and Facebook. Yahoo's stock is worth about $25 compared to Google's $825. I decided to invest in Yahoo because it was inexpensive and it is one of the top corporations. Yahoo is an Internet corporation that started in the bay area. Jerry Yang and David Filo started the corporation in January 1994. Yahoo’s intent was to be a web search engine base and evolved into much more. Today, Yahoo! Inc. is a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company that offers a comprehensive branded network of services to more than 345 million individuals each month worldwide. In the long run I ended up making a profit from

After World War I, the United States attempted to rebuild itself both politically and economically. Unfortunately, the United States economy was very unstable; therefore, the stock market crashed in October of 1929. Many people were investing their income and savings into speculative ventures and even borrowing money from brokers and banks in order to pay for the stock in cash. The stock market crash caused financial turmoil which resulted in many businesses closing and countless layoffs. With so many people unemployed or underemployed, businesses continued to fail and unemployment was at an all-time high. Also, the dust bowl was going on at about the same time, therefore farmers were hurting as well and crops were not flourishing. By 1932,…

As mentioned previously, stocks are an important part in a company’s worth. The market value of stocks change as investors buys and sells their shares. Many times investors think that the market value of a stock is incorrect and the market value can be overvalued or undervalued depending on their analysis of its worth. Although markets and investors value stocks, they value them differently. Investors influence the price of a stock based on the investor’s analysis of the company’s future earnings. Investors pay more for companies than its market value to make sure all shares are owned. Investors value stock very much because they can easily manipulate the price and value of a stock; this gives them a large amount of power over the market. For investors the buying and selling of stocks becomes a game to see how much they can buy or sell while also manipulating the market.…

The stock market is a market in which shares of publicly held companies are issued and traded either through exchanges or over the counter markets. When I first began my journey in the stock market game I was hesitant on which stocks to purchase. After consulting with my partner we both agreed to invest in a company that we have regularly purchased from for years. The company we decided on was Nintendo. Nintendo is a company known for gaming systems, such as the Wii and Nintendo DS. When choosing this stock I considered my history with the company and upon reflection I realized my first personal purchase of Nintendo occurred in kindergarten and I have regularly continued to purchase from this company ever since. I also took into account the…
