Talent
Were all wise or famous people talented? Did wise people make their own talent? Talent is something that gives you more opportunity to do something than others but, it does not mean that talent is the only key to success”,we should not confuse talent with spiritual success. Talent is the 10% of wisdom, while 90% of wisdom is hard-working “(anonym) from this we understand that , although talent is delivered uniquely to all people it can be compensated by our inquisitiveness or diligence. There are similarities and differences between talent and spiritual gifts .both are gifts from God .Both grow in effectiveness with use .Both are intended to be used on behalf of others , not for selfish purpose .Spiritual gifts are given to benefit others and not ourselves .As the two great commandments deal with loving God and others ,it follows that one should use his talent for those purposes . But to whom and when talents and spiritual gifts are given differs. A person (regardless of his belief in God) is given a natural talent as a result of a combination of genetics (some have natural ability in music ,art ,or mathematics ) and surroundings (growing up in musical family will aid in developing a talent for music), or because God desired to endow certain individuals with certain talents. Ultimately , a talent is the genetics and training ,while a spiritual gift is the result of the power of the God. Eventually , no matter we have talent or spiritual gift we should be humble for it .People should enrich their talent or spiritual gifts with their inquisitiveness and diligence ,because talent or spiritual gift given to people is not for them , people are obliged to use their talent in best way to other people especially for their nation, for their

From an early age I grew up listening to the sounds of Motown with my dad. He would sing songs to me like “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terell, and I would listen diligently, unknowingly acquiring the ability to make beautiful melodies and soulful sounds with my vocal chords. Then one day it happened. I sang. In fact, to say that I sang, would be saying the least of what actually happened. I didn’t just sing, I sang well. And it was around the age of 8 that I realized I had a gift for music, a raw talent if you may, and I was determined to use it.…

In Staudinger article, “A Psychology of Wisdom: History and Recent Developments,” she discuses the basis on how most people characterize a wise individual in psychology and what people can gain from being or becoming wise. According to Staudinger, historically some people would consider a wise individual to be someone who possessed natural born intelligence/common sense or an older person who gained wisdom through years of experience. Common sense means practical or wise judgments.…

In Malcolm book, The Story of Success, he makes a very important point in the book regarding hard work and success. He argues that 10,000 hours of practice of a certain skill will allow someone to be a professional at that skill. However, in an article in response to Malcolm's argument, Temple's argues that a person must not only practice for 10,000 hours, but also be naturally gifted, or “wired”, to master that particular skill. Temple's argument is correct for a number of reasons.…

The exceptionally creative may need a different approach when it comes to their development. The gifted need to be treated with patience and given room to grow their talents. In My Name is Asher Lev, Asher’s parents are not very supportive of his gifts. His mother is the more supportive of the two. She can relate to Asher’s problem of wanting to grow in his art and the communities disapproval. She even buys him paint at one point and takes him to an art museum. When he asks his mother questions that she fears may corrupt his Jewish faith she can no longer accept his gifts in front of his father. Eventually she supports him by saying, “You and your father are two different natures. There is nothing to be done about it, Asher Lev...Do not try to understand, Become a great artist. That is the only way to justify what you are doing to everyone's life.”(Potok) In school, a place that should be a refuge of learning and peace Asher's Headmaster remarks “Many people feel they are in possession of a great gift when they are young. But one does not always have to give in to a gift. One does with a life not only what is precious to one's self, but to one's own people. That is the way our people live...”(Potok) This notion that a gift should be ignored for a civic responsibility is incredibly ignorant and short sided. The headmaster has no idea the incredible things…

Can someone with a lot of talent be successful in the entertainment industry? Researchers Sommerlund and Strandvad asked this question and found that talent alone will not suffice. Sommerlund and Strandvad argued that an important aspect fell within the performance of the person seeking to break into the industry. Performance was broken down into three categories, identification, self-technology and materialization. “Identification is recognition of potentiality by evaluating others. Self-technology is emphasizes the work that talented person performed. Materialization shows that talent is produced through attachments to collaborators” (Sommerlund & Strandvad, 2012, pp. 191-192). The category that is of most relevance is the third one, materialization. This category is all about the perception. The perception lies heavily on the person evaluating the person hoping to gain success in the entertainment industry. A good perception would require nonchalance. The person looking to book projects needs to act in a casual manner so that they can be perceived in a positive competent…
