Six Dimensions of Health Worksheet

Part 1

For each of the following six dimensions of health, list at least one characteristic, activity, belief, or attitude that reflects that dimension in your life. Provide a brief explanation with each example. Refer to Ch. 1 in the text for explanations of these dimensions.

Physical health: Exercising is a good activity to incorporate in my weekly plans to live a more healthy life. I will increase more exercise in my life, taking it one day at a time.

Social health: Continuing being honest and loyal to my family, friends, coworkers, and classmates is a good way for me to focus on my characteristic social health.

Intellectual health: Writing papers helps explore my mind more intellectually. It makes me use my critical thinking more, helps me get a better understanding of things.

Environmental health: I try to help the environment by recycling my trash. Separating my paper, glass, plastic, and food (garbage disposal).Do not litter trash around the communities and try to teach my kids the same values.

Emotional health: I practice my emotional health regularly at work. There are many people who work on my nerves, instead of giving them attitude. I try to explain the way I feel in the most peaceful way possible.

Spiritual health: I pray every day for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Incorporate it in my life daily.

Part 2

In approximately 125 to 200 words, describe health and wellness in your own words using the ideas and concepts for each of the six dimensions of health. With my emotional health, I try to understand my emotions and finding healthy ways of expressing my emotions is important to my emotional health.
