Village and City
Comparison And Contrast Between Village Area And City Area People who live in the country might long to live in the city and those in the city may long for the peace and quiet of country life. However, country life and city life has several differences which may attract one person or repel another. Firstly, an elderly person might find life in the city to be better in the long run as there is better access to health care facilities and around the clock emergency services. However, the kind of health care available in the city is not accessible to someone living in the country, as there might only be a local clinic with a rural nurse available. The clinics are not equipped with the supplies necessary for an emergency. In the city, you might not have the privacy that you wish for. You would not be able to go outside without bumping into someone eager to pass on the latest gossip or stop for an idle chitchat. This however is a total different case in the country. You might walk for miles with out encountering anyone and your nearest neighbor would live miles away. Also as opposed to living in the city where the slightest gesture of kindness might be met with suspicion, people in the country take it upon themselves to be as kind and neighborly as possible, going as far as to volunteer to help out a person in need. In the longer run, living in the city might prove to be less expensive than living in the country. Due to the fact that goods have to be transported to the country, the prices will inevitably raise and you will be forced to spend much more than if you live in the city. Also traveling to and fro to shop will be expensive if you are living in the country. People who live in the country may experience a healthier lifestyle than those living in the city as there are not many vehicles and so noise and air pollution is not a problem. In addition, there are many outdoor activities available to those living in the country such as horse back riding,

The traveling method of both locations is extremely different. Traveling in the city is very easy and not as costly as in the country. In order to get somewhere in the city, people have to attain a taxi, which means not having to pay for gas and car insurance. Walking is the best choice for those in the city; while walking in the city is much easier; it also helps people get the recommended exercise. On the other hand, in the country traveling is twice as hard, and gas for the diesel trucks is twice as of expensive. Things in the country are a good distance away, so it makes the route for driving longer. There are many differences between living in the city or in a country setting, but the country setting has many more advantages over the city. The air and water quality and other environment factors are improved in the country setting. The school system is safer and less crowded in a rural setting. The roads are not loaded with traffic and taxis. The country is safer than the city and crime rates are lower. In the country, there is an abundance of trees and vegetation. In the country, there are parks and open spaces, and there is a variety of wildlife to observe. Although some of the reasons why one might choose to live in either place are left to personal preference, there are many factors based solely on facts.…

When approaching the countryside you are immersed in the rolling hills of green, the smell of fresh cut grass invades your senses going hand in hand with the birds singing their sweet songs on the rolling air. There are more trees then you can count and it is very comforting scene all together. If you are city bound the city you are faced with tightly packed buildings, cram-packed streets filled with angry drivers forever late for this or that. Smog and a ripe stench that can’t seem to be placed take a permanent seat in your nostrils, walking is nearly impossible to do without running into someone. Definitely not the life for someone who treasures personal space and pleasantries that seem to be swept to the way side with city living. There are less pollution, fewer cars, and fewer factories in the countryside. This shows that the environment is better and more natural in the country. As opposed to a city filled with loud noises and factories which contribute to noise and environmental pollution.…

Many families and individuals find themselves at some point questioning the advantages of city living versus country living. It is nearly impossible to find a good answer to this question. What is good for one person might not be good for another. Some people enjoy the busy, hyper active metropolitan city where they can use all amenities and have unlimited opportunities for work and leisure. At the same time, other people feel the urge to be closer to Mother Nature, relaxation, beauty, and peace. They take pleasure in living in the calm and peaceful environment of the countryside and spending their free time fishing, hiking, picking berries in the woods, or playing in the creek. In my opinion, the nature of urban and rural life style and the effect it has on people is the most important difference between living in the city and living in the country. I feel fortunate to have grown up in the rural area. I would never trade my memories of playing in the creek, riding four wheelers, or climbing trees all within a short walk from my house. Health, education, and transportation are three major concerns that need to be considered. While city life can bring more opportunities in these cases, country life can provide the best of both worlds.…

Unlike the small town people, the city people have to struggle day to day with their transportation. Commuting to work or school is almost like a nightmare. Public transportations [trains, buses], roads, and railways are no match for city population. Those over crowed buses and trains with passengers are almost impossible to get in or get out without pushing or touching other people. To commutes with taxi or your own car can be a lot frustrating than taking train or bus because of a busy traffic, where cars can only move bumper to bumper. Based on my experience it took me one and half hours to travel seven miles in the New York City. So, basically their patient and energy are mostly consumed by traveling. But for the country people driving to work/school is a lot more pleasurable than the city people. There is almost no traffic jam, no pollution, and great nature scenery on the way. On the down side, they are lacking in public transportation system. They do not have many choices like the city people for…

I stress the word "city" rather than small town, farm, or cabin in the woods because, in most cases your life can be far simpler in a city. A city's density leads to efficiencies in meeting your needs. Cities serve as a site for the exchange of labor, money, entertainment, culture, and are transit hubs. You can live in a city with less stuff than in the country, and your life can be richer through easy access to other people and culture.…

Who wants to walk out of their front door and see nothing but a concrete jungle filled with too many cars? certainly not me! In the country, there is space between you and your annoying neighbors. Having privacy in the city is like trying to grow an oak tree in a thimble. In the country, you can walk out of your front door and see a blue, pollution free sky, the birds are chirping, and maybe upon a distance you see a couple horses or cows. There is no curfew at night time, no annoying patrolling police officers, and you can have a bonfire at your own leisure. Cities are overloaded with people and it proves nearly impossible to step outside without being seen or heard by other people.…

Country life compared to city life differs in many ways pertaining to the economy, environment, society and lifestyle. Which community would someone pick based on these factors. First, relating to the economical differences, cities have plenty of job opportunities there are many businesses and homes to work. Also, public transportation makes it easier to get to work, compared to the country. Country areas are far away from big business, so farming and living of the land is what most people do. But, some people still drive a hundred or more miles to work every day to the closest city or business. So living in the city costs less for fuel compared to the country. Country people who farm need fuel for their equipment, so keep in mind the cost. But, Studies say twenty years from now; high demand of food will affect the farming industry in a positive way. So farming’s a smart investment and may influence someone to move.…

Transportation is a big factor of difference for both areas. The idea of walking to places is strange to the city life individual, but in the country life, it’s an everyday thing. Being a healthy factor of walking, the country life gains a recollection of the idea. In contrast, a city has many more things going on so places are spread out drastically so the need for cars, subways, and busses is needed for the busy rush hour of the city life. A large disadvantage of this situation is the pollution level is created with all the happenings of the city.…
