Objectives
a. Describe the impact of current sport/event trends on marketing.

The impact of current trends on marketing are so great in number that teams make so much money that teams are vastly improved ad can be improved through the marketing techniques. Because teams make so much money they can invest more into the team for better players, equipment, etc.
b. Explain the importance of identifying sport/event trends.

The importance of identifying trends help all sports teams gain money as well as invest more in the marketing procedures. These sports organizations are all about making more money so if they have to spend a little bit of money to make more back in the long run they will.
c. Discuss sources of sport/event trend information.

Sources include the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, CNBC, and American College of Sports Medicine.
d. Identify current sport/event trends.

Top fitness trends are cross-fit and yoga. The biggest increase in participation in team sports in 2008 was ultimate Frisbee, up 20.8 percent. Last year, 15 percent of cheerleaders and 29 percent of gymnasts were male. Archery participation was up 7.7 percent.

At large sporting events, sponsors like to take advantage of the large crowd to advertise products (handout products, freebies, contests, etc.) because more people will be able to see it. Therefore this is significant because not only is it a simple way to announce a product but it is also efficient due to the amount of people who would see it at a large event. “Another example of sports marketing through sponsorships, is the renovation of the contract between Adidas and the Mexican Football Federation (FMF). In August of this year the CEO of Adidas Herbert Hainer in companion of the president of the FMF, Justino Compeán announced the renewal of the contract in order to permit Adidas to continue producing and designing the uniform of the Mexican teams until 2018. This is an example of sports marketing because as it was define, sports marketing is a marketing strategy in which companies related to sports products or services promote their trademark through design, production or other resources.
