It is important while working 1 to 1 with children that they are as fully integrated into school life as possible and have social inclusion with their peers. 1 to 1 allows the child to be able to follow a curriculum more tailored and suited to their needs. At the school I work at we have a few 1 to 1 pupils who work on a collapsed time table meaning they go to subjects they are capable of attending or vital core subject like English and maths classes, some will attend creative arts lessons like art, dance and drama but then instead of doing subjects like modern foreign languages will spend that time working on additional maths and English or life skills with a TA and other pupils in the inclusion unit. It also allows TA’s to do activities with the children the children enjoy while including learning opportunities e.g. one child loves animals so she with help from a TA she writes a story about an animal and draws pictures which she like to do and develops her written English skills or sometimes she researches facts about a subject that interests her and makes a PowerPoint presentation about what she has found out, developing her i.c.t
