Every human should have the protected rights from being evicted by force, they should have the freedom of speech and be able to protest, and detained and tortured. In certain areas in Cambodia the citizens evicted by force are ordered to give up their plot of land. The government officials are supposed to obey the rules in the Constitution of Cambodia which protect the rights of citizens to own land even if they live in an urban or rural area but the officials are violating the human rights by threatening and using violence to force citizens off their land. This has become a serious issue for families in rural and urban areas because they have to relocate without any of their belongings. The major cause of land eviction are by the powerful business companies that buy plots of land from the government and forcibly take control of the land. Citizens are not given any noticed before evacuating, thus, their house and belongings are bulldozed and burn to the ground which leave nothing left for the citizens. The government only cares about making money and doesn't care about the citizens. Citizens does not have the freedom to express their thoughts or protest even if the problem is about land eviction. Usually women are the one that voice their opinions and protest, even though it would put themselves at risk. The government does not like the opinion from citizens, so they have the police take care of the situation. Protestors can end up being hurt, killed, or end up in prison.
