12 Angry Men: Which Party Will Win The Election?
What is your plan for today, which university should I apply to, or maybe more complicated question, “which party will win the election”? Tons of conflicts, negotiations and decisions we are experiencing in our daily life and most of the time we spend seconds, minutes or maybe a few hours to come up with a proper decision. However, when the situation turns into challenging decision by estimating someone’s fate and determine his/her future, that time the decision must be further intelligent and brave. Upon watching the 12 angry men movie, various concepts of organizational behaviour were covered, such as personality and learning, conflict and stress, groupthink, organizational culture and leadership.
In 1957 American courtroom drama released a 12 angry men movie is about a murder case. The film consists of a group of 12 jurors who struggled to render an agreed judgment about teenage boy and decide whether ‘the boy’, who was suspected for his father

Because no two individuals have exactly the same potentials and needs, conflict is a natural part of our interactions with others. This conflict prohibit people from coming up with a common decision and drive them for their own greed and targets (AMSLER, 2015). However, many research has been poured in to managing conflict on a micro and macro level within organizations (Erbert, 2014). While watching the movie it was clear the various styles of conflict resolution through jurors personality.
Accommodating, by accommodating you set aside your own personal needs because you want to please others in order to keep the peace (Erbert, 2014). Juror Edward Binns comes across a level headed man with good work ethic he steers clear of conflict save for one incidence where he defends the old man ( juror 9). The old man Joseph Sweeney is gentle by nature and even when reprimanding juror 10 about his bias, in the first action, keeps calm. He rarely speaks is of asked not to when

    The movie "12 Angry Men" focuses on a jury's decision on a capital murder case. A 12-man jury is sent to begin decisions on the first-degree murder trial of an 18-year-old Latino accused of stabbing his father to death, where a guilty verdict means an automatic death sentence. The case appears to be open-and-shut: The defendant has a weak alibi; a knife he claimed to have lost is found at the murder scene; and several witnesses either heard screaming, saw the killing or the boy fleeing the scene. Eleven of the jurors immediately vote guilty; only Juror No. 8 (Mr. Davis) casts a not guilty vote. At first Mr. Davis' bases his vote more so for the sake of discussion after all, the jurors must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty.     At the conception of Twelve Angry Men, Rose exposes the audience to the devastating heat in the jury room which over looks the "New York sky line" on what is described as "the hottest day of the the year". At this stage it is revealed to the audience the apathetic nature of jury members, uninterested in the "grave responsibility" they have in deciding the fate of the "16 year old boys life" and more interested with the goal of escaping the plain, oven like jury room.     In today’s fast-paced world we often find ourselves making hasty, split-second decisions on the seemingly unimportant matters with which we are faced. According to The Critical Thinking Handbook “...critical thinking evaluates reasons and brings thought in line with...” our best sense of what is true enabling us come to insightful conclusions on which we base our actions.
