Getting the Medical Biller and Coder position at St. Lukas Hospital would be a dream come true. My enthusiasm for this career choice comes from one particular experience where I received help from someone in this line of work. It was a typical day, I came home from work, checked the mailbox, and there it was a big fat denial from my insurance for my recent Doctor visit. I immediately called my insurance because I knew there just had to be a mistake, since the visit was just for my yearly exam, something nearly all insurances cover at no charge. Well, the insurance people couldn’t help me so I turned to the Doctor’s office for help and they put me on the phone with a coder and biller, Jenelle. She listened to my story then looked up my file to see if she could figure out what went wrong. After a few minutes she began telling me that someone billed the wrong code to my insurance and that she was fixing and sending the corrected code to my insurance. Her patience and compassion for her job just blew me away and I realized then that becoming a Medical Biller and Coder was my purpose in life. I can’t wait to be the person on the other end of the phone answering someone’s questions about their claim and being able to help them like Jenelle helped me. I love to help people especially with there well-being but, I am not a big fan of needles which makes the ability to be able to help through paperwork and a computer so aspiring.…

The concepts of this theory are the balance between analgesia and side effects, pain, and side effects themselves. Opioid analgesics often have very unpleasant side effects, so the end result is often patients taking less medication than they actually need, which results in pain not being effectively relieved. The combination of potent analgesics, pharmacological and non-pharmacological adjuvants can allow for the pain relief needed and also help minimize or eliminate unwanted side effects. Nurses can work with the patient to educate them on the side effects of potent medication and help them set realistic goals. This will entail working with both the patient and physician to achieve the results desired.…

1.1 - The difference between a working relationship and personal relationship is that a working relationship is where you are placed with other people and work as part of team where each individual is working following professional codes of conduct, towards the achievement of shared aims and objectives. By working to a set of rules and procedures for which you're paid, you are accountable and responsible for any mistakes and errors you make. Time limits and boundaries apply and you do not necessarily have to like the people you work with but need to keep personal opinions and feelings to yourself. Mutual respect and understanding is a key factor in developing a good working relationship.…
