THEY WERE WHITE, ALMOST TRANSLUCENT IN A WAY. I WENT TO THE OUTDOOR GRILL AND GOT THE FAMILY SOME FOOD WHILE WE WERE THERE AND DECIDED TO TRY THE ‘JERK CHICKEN’. IT IS A CARIBBEAN FAVORITE BUT NOT MINE, WOW WAS THAT STUFF HOT. I ENDED UP GOING BACK TO THE GRILL FOR I THINK THE ONLY NON-HOT FOOD ON ITS MENU WHICH WAS A GRILLED CHEESE. I REMEMBER THE MOST FASCINATING THING TO ME WAS THAT EVERYWHERE I LOOKED ON THE BEACHES WERE SCATTERED WITH FOSSIL RELICS. IN EVERY ROCK I TURNED OVER THERE WAS A FOSSIL IN IT. IT WAS AMAZING; I DECIDED TO TAKE SOME OF THEM WITH ME THAT DAY BEFORE WE …show more content…
GRAND CAYMAN REMINDED ME OF THE CLASSIC SEA SIDE TOWN, LAID BACK ATMOSPHERE, WINDY SALTY SEA AIR, THE ONLY THING MISSING WAS A LIGHTHOUSE. IT WAS A VERY PEACEFUL FEELING THERE. I HAD BOOKED AN EXCURSION WITH A PLACE CALLED CAPTAIN RON’S AND WE WENT OUT BY BOAT FIRST STOPPING AT THE BARRIER REEF AND THEN ENDING THE DAY BY SWIMMING WITH STINGRAYS. AT THE REEF ONE OF OUR GUIDES WAS AN EXCELLENT FREE DIVER AND HE ASKED US ALL TO HOP INTO THE WATER WITH HIM AND ONCE WE DID HE TOLD US ABOUT A ‘FRIENDLY’ NURSE SHARK THAT LIVED IN THE AREA HE WAS HOPING WOULD STOP BY (THANK GOD SHE DIDN’T) AND AFTER ASKING US ALL TO PUT ON OUR SNORKEL GEAR HE DOVE DOWN ABOUT 20 FT AND COAXED A HUGE MORAY EEL OUT OF ITS DEN. IT WAS A GOOD 5 FT LONG AND VERY TEMPERMENTAL, IT SCARED ME TO BE REAL HONEST. ONCE DONE THERE WE WERE ON TO THE STINGRAYS. DID YOU KNOW THAT GRAND CAYMAN HAS THE ONLY HUMAN FRIENDLY POD OF STINGRAYS IN THE WORLD? WE FED THEM AND PET THEM AND THEY SWAM RIGHT UP AGAINST US. WE WERE TOLD THAT KISSING A RAY ON THE HEAD WAS 7 YEARS GOOD LUCK. I DID IT AND SO FAR I’TS BEEN 4 YEARS AND I CAN TELL YOU THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THAT MYTH. LOL. SO AFTER ANOTHER WHOLE DAY IN THE WATER WE WERE BACK ON THE SHIP AND HEADING FOR

“In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue.” On August 3rd, 1492 Christopher Columbus departed Spain on his first voyage with his three ships; the Santa Maria, the Pinta, and the Santa Clara (also known as the Nina). After two months out in the ocean, Columbus and his crew saw land on October 12th. They step foot onto the land that was not Asia, as they had assumed, but the Bahamian islands. For months, Columbus looked for the riches that he had promised the Spanish monarchs in the Caribbean, sailing to one island to the next. Although Christopher Columbus’s original intentions were to find a fortune and to spread the word about Catholicism, he mostly enslaved the natives using brutal tactics. According to The Truth About Christopher Columbus,…

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

The statue of Christopher Columbus that resides in the city hall should be removed and relocated to a different location, such as the San Francisco Museum and Historical Society. If it were to be moved, I would strongly recommend attaching a plaque, which can provide a synopsis of facts, regarding his treatment towards indigenous tribes. This statue has caused a stir of mixed emotions for many individuals. However, it is important to acknowledge the wrongdoings he imposed in order to be honest about our history, which is entailed by this prominent figure.…

I am on the side of Benjamin Franklin because we have to take matters into our own hands to break free from Great Britain. We have tried multiple times trying to break free from Britain and we can’t just think that King george will stop his ways. Just as Patrick Henry said “Give me liberty or Death” we will should fight to get our freedom even if matters go to violence. If people join the Loyalists then they are breaking the dream of our great country the United States of America. This is also breaking the dream of our great president George Washington.…

Good job everyone. Thanks to those who voted. Only received 18 votes. Its been a great year and I look forward to working with you guys next year. I currently can't find any days open in August that will fit all of us for Second Harvest. We can do three things. Sign up for two different time slots on the same day but the later time slot will have to be picked up by parents because it's past the time we have to catch buses. The other option is to split the group and go on different days. Last, we could do something totally different. We need to sign up soon. I contacted Second Harvest more than two weeks ago and they have yet to respond. If we do do something different then we need to come up with it soon.…

I, and several other PUSHers, spoke at the Tulare city council meeting tonight and shared my support of SB54; I was also openly condemned, insulted, and ridiculed by a nearly packed audience of open trump supporters. I was told I don’t know anything, that I was an idiot, and that I supported with rapists and human trafficking.…

"Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth,"-John F. Kennedy. The king of Great Britain was imposing taxes on us without our consent. He cut off all of our trades with the world, and he has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us. The question is if gaining our independence is a good idea or not? I believe we should allow him to cut all connections with us because that way we can enforce our own laws and grow as a fair country where everyone votes and are all equal. Gaining our independence will take time which we will make it without Britain.…

On frigid day in December, George Washington rode his horse about his estate in Mount Vernon, Virginia during an array of occasional rain fall and snow flurries, as he administered his daily activities and duties. Later that evening, Mr. Washington would remark on having a runny nose, coughing, and a hoarseness of his voice. Early the next morning, on December 14, 1799, Martha Washington was awoken to witness her husband George Washington embracing his chest, with an overwhelming shortness of breath. As Martha became further concerned for his health, she sought to go for assistance, but Mr. Washington refused to let her go outside in the damp weather as she too was recovering from a recent cold. Nevertheless, Martha persisted and requested…
