The SAP JVM fails to start with following error message:
Error in file ../../../../src/solaris/bin/java_md.c near line 844: Error while loading library /sapjvm_4/jre/lib/ia64/server/libjvm.so. dlerror: Unsatisfied code symbol '_xpg_getsockname' in load module '/sapjvm_4/jre/lib/ia64/server/libjvm.so'..

Reason and Prerequisites
The SAP JVM has been started on a HP-UX server with an outdated C-Runtime.

Solution
Please make sure you have installed all HP-UX operating system patches as outlined in SAP note
1367498, section "HP-UX (all processor platforms)".
