As the main feature of the acoustic evening was the music of Carpenter and Colvin, it seems fitting to first note what talented performers they both are. It is no wonder why each woman has racked up numerous Grammy Awards and various prestigious honors. The evening featured songs from both of their repertoires, new and old. Although alone both women are great singers, their voices together combined to produce something really special. Their vocals both complemented and contrasted each other in a unique manner to create beautiful harmonies. Although fans of more up-tempo music might complain that the music of Colvin and Carpenter put them to sleep, fans of the genre certainly enjoyed the performance. When the two were singing together, neither woman overpowered the other, and a balance between their voices was created.
