In the book The Killing Sea, Richard gave the characters different perspectives of life. Sarah acts very rude and inconsiderate. On page 14, Sarah said to Peter, her brother, “You are so annoying that if a t-Rex ate you, it would have indigestion for a week.”Moreover, she discredits the local custom of putting on a scarf. Second, she always tries to be in the spotlight. Meanwhile, Ruslan has a different perspective of life. On page 20, the book says, “ But that curiosity vanished when he realized that for the first time in a week he hadn’t had his drowning nightmare.” This indicates that, because he cannot sleep,he is feeling anxious.However, They both care deeply about their parents. Sarah had felt a wave of deep shock when she found her mother dead on page 41. Ruslan also underwent a surge of grief when he thought his father was dead on page 52.
