• Did the group leader seem prepared for the group? Yes the leader was very prepared for the group meeting and seemed to be very knowledgeable of the group and the material he had prepared to present to us.
• Did the group leader or members make newcomers feel welcome? Yes he made all of feel that we were now one group and that we were all welcomed to be open about any ideas or thoughts we had at the end.
• Were the goals of the group clear? Yes they were very clear. He really wanted us to think …show more content…
about our daily and personal walks with the lord and how they related to the material we were discussing
• Did there seem to be an agenda, whether formally written or spoken?
No not really it was very open and laid back. Which was different from the previous small group I was a part of which was kind of hard to deal with at first but got easier as the time went on.
• Did those participating in the group seem comfortable? Yes considering we were all from two different small groups in the church everyone seemed to cohabitated very well together and act as one group by the end.
• Did anyone in particular dominate the group? One person did try to talk more and longer then others of us but the leader did try to ask for more opinions and try to seek others to get involved in the dissuasion.
• Was the discussion flexible? Yes for the most part other then the one person who attempted to be in control of the entire discussion.
• What was the seating arrangement? We all set around the room with the teacher in the middle were he was able to see everyone and be able to observe everyones body language.
• Did the group leader learn your name? Yes he did and I pointed out in the beginning that today I was just going to be observing and listening to focous on the group as a whole and the dynamic of the newly formed small group of the two former small groups at
church.
• How did the leader begin the group? The leader started out by welcoming us all and tell us how excited he was to have the two groups merging as one. Since are church is very large many of us did not know one another so he started by having everyone share a little bit about there selves and what they hoped to get out of this new small group
• He asked us if any of us had anything that we wanted to ask of if there was anything that we didn’t fully understand about what he had talked about or if we had any prayer request ended the session. He then closed us in prayer.
• What were the strengths of the group? The strengths were that it was very well planned out and organized the material used was very good for the age group and for many people hit home and had them asking questions.
• What were the weaknesses of the group? The weakness was that each previous small group seemed to set close together to who they knew there wasn’t much intermingling of the two groups.
• If you were leading the group, what would you change? Nothing I felt that it was done very well and the best that it could be under the circumstances of two small groups with low numbers being merged into one group with more people to participate.
• Any other noteworthy observations? The leader referred to his notes more then I feel like he should have which may have not have been as noticeable to others but was to me I believe because of this assignment I was watching for everything and every detail.
• How did this assignment benefit you? This assignment benefited me because it made me examine the people within a new small group of people I mostly didn’t know before today. Which is odd because you would think at church you know everyone but you don’t there are new people everywhere and some people that I thought I knew that I really didn’t. Which was good because we have more things in common then I had previously thought. However if we would have been brought together it could be something I would have never learned about them.
