The network society is a society which is dependent upon data and communication innovation, the network society or information age has substituted the industrial age (Castells, 1990:51). The system society does not supply material products rather it is focused on producing information and learning by so using online networking. The second concept is space of flow this refers to being in numerous places at once and space of flow is linked by places that have media communications, for example, airports and internet café and other instances of space of flow is speaking to the individual at Russia while in South Africa using Skype, also ordering food online and broadcasting the conversation live on Facebook at the same which all individuals on the friends list can see. The space of flow advantages is that individuals can exchange cash while sitting at their homes unlike in the industrial age where an individual needed to make a long trip to the bank in order to be able to transfer money and individuals can get news within the seconds they happen, for example, a demise inside a family not at all like in the industrial society where messages contacted individuals on later stage. Lastly the in the network society things are easier for the young people and the population as a whole such as RSVP’ing to a wedding on Facebook than writing a letter that took time to reach its receiver. Social media enables people to talk without limitations and it costs less. However, his theory of network society is criticised like several different theories. Beginning with Graham (2013:6) implied that the network society originate from industrial society and it only improving on what the industrial society has built it is not the new society and Webster (2012) he opposed the theory of network society by saying that technology is redesigning the manner in which people live and communicate. Lastly Hatem Ali (2011) condemns Castells theory of network society by so saying the predominance of social media use in the network society just offers advantage to individuals who know English and disconnect the individuals who use their mother tongue language and he additionally say dominance of English is a danger on individual mother tongue language as English will be used more than the individual very own mother tongue language.
