The second thing I learned was providing playful opportunities for crawling. Caregivers can provide these opportunities by creating challenging climbing construction with firm pillows and pads. The third thing I learned was movement can be a variety of things. While observing you are watching and looking at a variety of movements an infant or toddler may be doing. It’s important to constantly encourage children in practicing movement and providing them with materials to do so.
2 AHA moments: I could
relate to the section about letting toddlers go in and out of larger objects because when my brother was a toddler we had one of those tunnels that they could crawl through and look in and out. It was one of his favorite toys.
I could also relate to the section about adding dancing to you days. Whenever I babysit, especially little girls they love to dance around and listen to music. This is a fun activity for the child and the caregiver.
