302 Engage in personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings.
1.1
My duties as a care worker involve giving the people I support personal care, such as assisting with washing, dressing, and toileting requirements. Assisting with nutritional requirements such as meal planning/preparation/feeding, prompting/administering medication. It is my responsibility to ensure that the people I support maintain an acceptable level of health and to promote the individuals well-being. It is also my responsibility to ensure that all company policies and procedures are carried out and to maintain records for the service delivered, along with responsibility for ensuring that my training needs are kept up-to-date so that I am at the level of standards required to undertake my role. Finally, it is my duty and responsibility to treat the individuals with respect and dignity at all times.

Protect the rights and promote the interests of the individual I support. Strive to establish and maintain the trust and confidence of the individual. Promote independence of the individual which protecting them as far as possible from danger or harm. Respect the rights of individual whilst seeking to ensure behavior does not harm themselves or others. Uphold public trust and confidence in your service.
Be accountable for the quality of my work and I take responsibility for maintaining and improving my knowledge and skills.

The service we provide must reflect the needs of the people we support and by constantly improving our services we can better meet the need of the individuals and support their development.
By constantly reflecting on out practice we can assess where we may be lacking in skills or knowledge and we can update these regularly to keep our services up to date and as supportive to the individuals as possible.

This could take place during supervision with your manager where you might reflect on various incidents, emergencies, conflicts
