Executive summary
Whichever big city one may visit; there is a big probability of coming across Hilton Hotel. Hilton Hotel Inc. is a leading hotel brand with an expanding portfolio of many hotels. The company has more than 380 hotels worldwide in more than 66 countries. The company has a strong and big workforce of approximately 80,000 employees who serves an average of approximately 8 million guests who visits the hotel yearly.
Operational excellence and customer service are the fundamental components that make the hotel standout among others in the same industry. With all service businesses, contribution of the employees is key importance to Hilton’s success.
Hilton Hotel Inc. is fully decentralized; cutting across cities and countries. This means that managers of the individual hotels have to be trained effectively to meet the demands of the market and also relate appropriately with the employees. Soft skills of the managers play a vital role for the success of the company.
The executives and the stakeholders of the Hilton hotel believe that the ongoing development and training of its employees is fundamental for their success in the business. Employee motivation is a key component that helps the Hotel remain competitive in the global market. On this light, the company believes that better selection and recruitment is key to their growth. The company allocates a lot of resources to the HRM department so as to come up with better strategies that sees the company thrive forward.
