4 Areas Of The Human Brain
The human brain has many areas that each have their own specific functions. To be able to enjoy an evening of eating pizza, socializing, and playing cards, the brain would have to use a few of it's specialized areas to get you through the night successfully. The four main areas that it would have to use are the Broca's area, hippocampus, hypothalamus, and occipital lobe.

The first area is called the Broca's area; which happens to be a part of the frontal lobe linked to speech production. The Broca's area would help you be able to recognize what your friends are talking and joking about, what cards to play, and let you be able to laugh and communicate with them.

The second area that the brain would use is the Hippocampus. The hippocampus is in the brain's medial temporal lobe and helps to regulate emotions and is associated with memory. This area would help you feel the happiness when you smell or take your fist bite of pizza, laugh when one of your friend's makes a joke, and be able to recall who laid down which cards or how many peices of pizza you've had.

The hypothalamus would be able to tell you that you're not hungry anymore after eating the pizza, if you need a drink, or if you're starting to get tired after staying out at your friend's all night.

Finally, the brain's fourth region would have to be the occipital lobe. The occipital lobe is the processing center for vision so it would be able to help you see your friends expressions or the cards that they are laying down. This section of your brain would be the most helpful portion for the night because it ties into each of the previous sections in some kind of way.

The brain would also use many other areas of itself to be able to coordinate your hands and body movements but these specific areas are the bigger players that would be used during your fun night out with your

Another part of the brain that is responsible for cognitive function is the Wernicke’s area and the Broca’s region. Both of these regions are named for the person who discovered them. They both are responsible for speech and how we talk. It is also involved in how a person understands written and spoken language. For this reason, if a person sustains damage to either of these areas, then they could lose the ability to speak or understand words that are spoken to them or written words.…

There are three major brain divisions. They are the cerebrum, the brainstem, and the cerebellum. The cerebrum contains 40% of the weight of the brain and is founded in the superior part of the brain. This portion of the brain has many functions and lobes which perform certain functions. The frontal lobe is involved with “activating and controlling both fine and complex motor activities.” This involves speech. It is also involved with the executive functions, such as reasoning and rationalizing, among others. The occipital lobe is concerned with vision and processing the information received from the eyes. According to the reading, the “key functions of the parietal lobes include perceiving and integrating sensory and perceptual information,…

In cognitive functioning, the brain plays an important role. A cognitive function is a person’s ability to process thoughts and information (Willingham, 2007). Examples of cognitive functions are learning, perception, and memory (Willingham, 2007). There are specific areas in the brain that support certain cognitive functions. For example, the area in the brain that is more dorsal and anterior than any other area in the brain is known as the frontal lobe. According to Grieve (2010), the frontal lobe supports many cognitive functions. Examples of the cognitive functions that are supported in the frontal lobe are elimination of inappropriate social responses, understanding impending outcomes, and blunting emotions (Grieve, 2010). Another area in the brain that supports cognitive functioning is the amygdala (Grieve, 2010). The amygdala supports the cognitive function that allows one to process emotions (Grieve, 2010). The frontal lobe and amygdala are but two of the many areas in the brain that support…

The largest portion of the human brain is the cerebrum. Also known as the cortex, the cerebrum is involved with higher brain functions like thought and action. The cerebral cortex has four lobes – the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, temporal lobe, and the occipital lobe (“Brain Structures and their Functions,” n.d.; “Frontal Lobe - The Brain Made Simple,” n.d.).…
