4 Domains Of Writing
Four Domains of Writing.
Tagalog, the language of Filipino, is my first language, and I think English, my second language, is not an easy language. Learning two languages at the same time is pretty difficult. Being good at English will take time and practice. Between the four domains of language arts, I’ve actually contributed with all of them which are speaking, reading, writing, and listening.
First of all, the word “terrible” describes my speaking skills a lot. When I present, the volume of my voice is very low, and the back of the room wouldn't be able to hear me. My punctuation skills aren't the best, they're actually the worst. It takes a lot of practice to get the right tone, volume, attitude, and actually being comfortable in front of the audience. I definitely need to work on my speaking skills more.
Next, My reading skills used to be terrible but i have improved a lot. Im glad that this class connected me to reading again because i used to not like to read. I'm really proud that
I've read a countless number of books this year. I definitely reached one of my goals of the year which was reading a book from a different genre. I've learned so many things about reading that has improved me as a reader. Also, i think the best part of reading is creating images in my head. When it comes to reading, there are no rules.
Also, I've learned a lot this year about writing, and paying attention to my teacher, when he lectured my class about writing has helped me improve my writing skills. Hitting writer’s block is probably the most stressful thing that could ever happen when you’re writing. Thanks to my teacher, I’ve learned how to avoid the stressful, terrible thing we call
“writer’s block”.
Lastly, I guess you could say that listening is pretty hard. It’s not only about giving your full attention to the speaker, you have to actually listen and know what the speaker is talking about. Although some speakers can be boring because of the style they’re talking in, doesn’t mean you can put your head down and be respectful. I would never put my head down when someone is speaking because i know better. Some people are naturals at listening perfectly to the speaker but some need practice.
In conclusion, there will be struggles when it comes to the four domains of writing: speaking, reading, writing, and listening, but they’re are like a sport, practice makes perfect.

Although there is much I can’t recall from my early days of reading, there are some momentous flashbacks. When I was beginning elementary school my parents were very eager to introduce me to doing a great deal of reading, they wanted me to enjoy reading for a while and they succeeded. We lived within walking distance of the public library which allowed us to frequently visit the library to read and check out books. I always remembered the vast shelves of books that seemed like they never had an end. In addition to reading at the library we checked books out to bring home to read, this allowed me to read as much as I wanted to. Correspondent to the amount of reading I did, the more I enjoyed it and improved at reading.…

Over the course of this semester, I have changed greatly as a reader. I look at books now in a different way. I used to love reading when I was younger and this semester has helped me rediscover why. When I finally got the chance to read to students for the first time I was immediately changed. I now get excited about reading books to the kids and take advantage of every opportunity I have to do so. I have, without a doubt, read more books this semester than I have since my first semester as an Early Childhood Education major.…

The major languages in the United States are English, Spanish, and Chinese, with these last two quickly gaining prominence, and about 17.9 percent of Americans speak a language other than English at home. Keeping this in mind, it is almost essential today to learn a second language. Being bi-, tri- or multilingual has many advantages, the more obvious being that one can communicate with exchange students, immigrants, and fellow online gamers, chatters, and forum users, as well as to bridge cultures and societies through lingual commonality and better understanding. It also can give a person a fresh eye for their own society and culture, and even improve understanding of the mechanics of one's own language, all by comparison.…

To begin with, my punctuation has gotten a lot better. I made a lot of errors during the beginning of the year and I am starting to make a lot less. Also, my thesis statements have gotten tremendously better. At the beginning of the year they were really boring. As the year began to progress, the statements got more interesting and creative. My analysis throughout essays have gotten better. I am much better now at determining things like theme, tone, and finding many literary devices. I can also set up my essays better and create smoother transitions. When I find the theme now, I can point it out much easier after learning about it this year and having a better understanding of what it is. When it comes to tone, I understand it so much better now. When we began learning about it I didn’t understand but after we received a chart about different types of tones it helped me so much. When I started English this year, I knew some of the basic literary devices like simile, metaphor, and personification; but with the knowledge I have gained this year, I can use and find things like hyperbole, onomonopea, assonance, and so on.…
