We all learned in elementary school that the suns provide nutrients and components that help plans grow. “As the name implies, photosynthesis is a process that uses light energy to synthesize something.” (Mauseth, 2014) That process is called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process where plants use light energy from the sun. If we break the word up photo has the definition of light and synthesis means putting together. It provides the necessary sources of energy that both animals and plants need to survive. There are important factors that help photosynthesis, water, light and carbon dioxide. Throughout this essay we will discuss the equation that is associated with photosynthesis, main energy carrying molecule, reactants and products of light reactions and photosynthesis in the Calvin cycle.…

After my second week in college, I’m finding that high school has not taught me as much about college English as I thought it would. When I took the English placement test upon enter at the College of the Redwoods, I thought I did fairly well. I had not been in high school for thirty years so when I received the test results, spoke with an academic advisor, and learned that I would need to take English 150: Pre-collegiate Reading and Writing class I thought that meant I had retained some shred of knowledge from high school. Now I’m finding that high school hasn’t even prepared me for a remedial class!…

Stacy struggled to hurriedly pick up all her books and catch up to the girl who she wants to be most. Grace was stomping away in fury, as Stacy desperately tried to understand what she did wrong once again. Grace was the girl in school that everyone feared yet idolized, abhorred yet looked up to and especially envied. Stacy was her partner-in-crime, yet partner is too much of an equalizing term. She is the one to have the great privilege of being accepted by Grace, yet ironically she envied her most. She attempted to emulate her everything in every chance she got thinking that is how she will gain her favor. What Stacy did not realize, is that without her, Grace could not hold the power that she had tightly gripped over the school. Stacy belabored to attempt to make her “friend” happy but Grace seemed insatiable. She seemed to give Grace an encomium with every little thing that she did. It seemed to her that no matter what she did she would receive carping. Despite all to everyone else they seemed coherent and inseparable.…

Question 1- 7 Hotels were among the earliest facilities that bound the United States together. They were both creatures and creators of communities, as well symptoms of the frenetic quest for community. Even in the first part of the nineteenth century, Americans were already forming the habit of gathering from all corners of the nation for both public and private, business and pleasure, purposes. Conventions were the new occasions, and hotels were distinctively American facilities making conventions possible. The first national convention of a major party to choose a candidate for President (that of the National Republican party, which met on December 12, 1831, and nominated Henry Clay for President) was held in Baltimore, at a hotel that was then reputed to be the best in the country. The presence in Baltimore of Barnum's City Hotel, a six-story building with two hundred apartments, helps explain why many other early national political conventions were held there. In the longer run, American hotels made other national conventions not only possible but pleasant and convivial. The growing custom of regularly assembling from afar the representatives of all kinds of groups – not only for political conventions, but also for commercial, professional, learned, and avocations ones – in turn supported the multiplying hotels. By the mid-twentieth century, conventions accounted for over a third of the yearly room occupancy of all hotels in the nation; about eighteen thousand different conventions were held annually with a total attendance of about ten million persons. Nineteenth-century American hotelkeepers, who were no Ionger the genial, deferential "hosts" of the eighteenth-century European inn, became leading citizens. Holding a large stake in the community, they exercised power to make it prosper. As owners or managers of the local "palace of the public,” they were makers and shapers of a principal community attraction. Travelers from abroad…
