5.3. Explain the factors to be considered when selecting mail services

• The cost of sending the letter/parcel internationally or locally.
• The letter size.
• The weight of the letter.
• The urgency in arrival to the intended destination.
• If the intended destination is either inland or overseas.
• The robustness behind material that’s to be delivered; replacement value of documents/package.

5.4. Explain the factors to be taken into account when choosing postage methods

• First/Second Class – Any post that needs to be sent first class normally arrives the next day; whereas, with second class it normally takes up to three days.
• Special Delivery – This service normally runs the same day or next day. This is considered as ‘urgent’
