5 Seconds Of Summer Lyrics
SHE LOOKS SO PERFECT-
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Simmer down, simmer down
They say we're too young now to amount to anything else
But look around
We work too damn hard for this just to give it up now
If you don't swim, you'll drown
But don't move, honey

You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down (hey!)

Hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Let's get out, let's get out
'Cause this deadbeat town's only here just to keep us down
While I was out, I found myself alone just thinking
If I showed up with a plane ticket
And a shiny diamond ring with your name on it
Would you wanna run away too?
'Cause all I really want is you

You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
I made a mixtape straight out of '94
I've got your ripped skinny jeans lying on the floor
And I know now, that I'm so down

Hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down
Your lipstick stain is a work of art
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart
And I know now, that I'm so down

Hey, hey!
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

You look so perfect standing there
In my American Apparel underwear
And I know now, that I'm so down (hey)
Your lipstick stain is a work of art (hey, hey)
I got your name tattooed in an arrow heart (hey, hey)
And I know now, that I'm so down (hey, hey)

Hey

DON’T STOP-

You're like perfection, some kind of holiday
You got me thinking that we could run away
You want I'll take you there,
You tell me when and where,
Oh oh oh oh

But then I asked for your number,
Said you don't

David Updike’s story “Summer” describes one summer holiday of a boy named Homer. He is faced with the external conflict on an unrequited love. Homer, the protagonist, is spending the summer at his best friend, Fred’s home near the lake. The summer, for the most, followed the usual flow of ‘athletic and boyhood fulfillment” (para 11) for Homer and Fred. There were the tennis matches and hiking, the alcohol and hanging out late at night and the reckless driving of both the car and the motorboat out on the lake. However, what made this summer special to Homer was that he had fallen in love with Fred’s sister, Sandra, the antagonist. Sadly, though, she did not seem to really notice him despite all the times they spent together, and so he suffered the heartache of regret and longing as he faced his conflict of an “unrequited” love.…

The stories “No One’s a Mystery” and “The Girls in their Summer Dresses” are both short stories that raise the question; when is it time to let go of love? The obvious answer is when it begins to hurt somebody more than it makes them feel elated. ‘Love’ is not easily defined by a dictionary or an internet search; love is something that you must feel and experience for yourself, however some kinds of love are dysfunctional and do nothing but leave someone bitter and jaded.…

    500 Days of Summer essay

The film 500 Days of Summer we see a developing relationship between the two main characters Tom and Summer. Some might deny that this is a love story because it doesn’t have your typical happy ending, but none the less it is a love story with a lot to say about relationships and the types of love that are evolved during it. This relationship starts out illustrating how both of the characters view life and love. Tom is described as a hopeless romantic in the beginning of the film and he truly believes in love in all its glory. Summer on the other hand states at the beginning of the film when they are at the bar for the first time that she doesn’t believe in love and she says to Tom “let’s just agree to disagree”. Immediately it’s obvious that both Summer and Tom have conflicting views on love and relationships. Yet, when Tom’s friend drunkenly divulges to Summer that Tom “likes” her. The next day at work they are making out hardcore in the copy room. I really enjoyed watching this film because it helped to show that relationships and perspectives on love and relationships do change and they change quite frequently.…
