1.1 - Explain why induction is important for practitioners, individuals and organisations
The induction process is an important start of the employment relationship and the future of that depends on how the employee is manages to settled into their post. Staff turnover is highest among new employees, and work efficiency is only reached following a period of learning and adjustment to a new working environment. There are also significant costs involved in the recruitment and selection process and an effective introduction package can lead to improved retention of employees/ staff team members. Therefore an effective induction programme is essential.
It always for clear communication, standards which are expected and an adequate time scale for a new employee to meet such standards, both employer and employee are both in the understanding of what is going on at all stages of the induction.
Within our working team this ensures a consistencies with the services offered to children, young people and their families, it also proved effective when looking at accountability and the law, helping promote a safe working environment.
