56 Up Reflection
While watching 56 Up, I found that I did not successfully predict many of the subjects’ life courses. For example, during 7 Up, Neil was a very optimistic and happy young boy. He had high aspirations of going to Oxford, and I found it very surprising when I saw that he dropped out of college after a semester and that he became homeless for a period of time. Also, I was shocked when I saw how much he struggled as an adult to stay happy because he was such a cheerful young boy. He ends up being a politician, writer, and an active member of his church, but based off of his segment in 7 Up, I would have never guessed he would have the hardships he did in his life. In my opinion, the most critical factors in influencing the lives of these children as they evolved into adults were their education/careers and family life. The ones that went to and finished college tended to be better off financially in their older years, and those who had strong support systems from family tended to be …show more content…
As of right now I feel like I have not found myself all the way and I still feel a lot of stress day to day. As a middle adult, I will hopefully know myself a lot better than I do now, and my life will probably be a lot more stable than it is now (i.e. a career/full-time job, long term place of residence, etc.), which will lead to less daily stress. I am so excited to have a committed, 20+ year marriage, children I love more than anything, and possibly grandchildren that will bring so much light into my life. I will have friends that have been through everything with me, and I will have more free time to enjoy my hobbies and loved ones. Even though my physical health will start to decline and my body will not be as strong as it is now, I will have so many other positives going on that will out shadow that some. I will finally have some time to sit back and enjoy life some instead of constantly worrying about my future like I do

    How 9/11 Changed My Life

I feel that friends have become more reliable and less flakey. I have enjoyed everything I’ve learned over time from family, friends, teachers and mentors. I also really like that boys are becoming men and not toying with my heart as much, but obviously I know they still have some growing up to do. I don’t like some of the new responsibilities that come with aging. I definitely took for granted everything I was given when living at home, like free food, clothes, gas, toothpaste and all the other little necessities. I also wish I could rewind time and enjoy school while it was easy. I also don’t like the loss of creativity and imagination of growing up. My mind used to run wild and everything I did, I did because I wanted to do it, I was never afraid of what others thought about me in the process. Now I’m sad that I care so much about what people think, instead of just doing the things that make me happy with no thought behind…

Symbolism plays a fundamental part in Tennessee Williams’s play, “The Glass Menagerie”. Examples of the use of symbolism include the fire escape, as an escape from the family, the phonograph, as an escape from reality, the unicorn, as a symbol for Laura's uniqueness and the father’s photograph, representing something different to each character. Through recognition of these symbols, a greater understanding of the play’s theme is achieved.…

As most children grow up, they are aware of their surroundings and take in everything they can understand which adds to their personality and their structure of life. As a child I developed at a level more advanced than the children around me. I learned to use a computer at the age of 3 years old. I read at an 8th-9th grade level while in the 5th grade. In addition, I could handle complex situations better than a average elementary student. The mindset I had as a child unlocked new doors for me. For example, I was not afraid to try new things and accept the lessons that came along with new opportunities. Also, I learned from my parents that going down the path of success isn’t always easy. Lastly, I experienced that life is filled with…
