When Jennie was awoken a second time, it was because she heard a large noise, sounding like something had fallen onto the roof. She looked at the clock, seeing that it was around 1:30am and then smelt smoke. After waking up her husband George, she shouted out into the hallway, telling her children to leave the house, carrying her baby outside. Along with the baby, three of her other children had made it out of the house, until George and Jennie noticed that the five children who had stayed up late that night, hadn't made it out of the house. When George went back to get the children from the room, the fire was too strong and he could not get into the house. He then went to grab his ladder to see if he could climb into their bedroom…

There once was two little kids that were playing on their small, family farm. Nancy was seven; she loved playing Hide and Seek. Davey was four; he loved playing Kingdom. Their father was in his mid thirties. He typically spent over ten hours in the field each day; however, he still had to bring in over three-fourths of the crops, and in less than two weeks, it was going to get too cold for the horses to work in the field, so for the past week he had spent about eighteen hours out in the fields. Their momma was in charge of all of the housework. She made all of the meals and taught the kids. Since it was getting colder, it took longer to cook the meals; so, she hoped that her husband would be done on the field soon so he could help her with more of the housework.…

“In an effective classroom students should not only know what they are doing. They should also know why and how.” Harry Wong is an educational speaker that tries to help teachers be able to not only educate their students, but also teach them how to comprehend and logically think. Even at Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School, there are a variety of different types of teachers; moreover, this affects the atmosphere of their classrooms. Many outsiders may see our school as boring and being the same as any old school. For the students, every single classroom has a different atmosphere that they either love or greatly dislike.…

Children misbehave for many reasons. Some reasons for misbehavior can be to get attention, disappointment, new situations, testing limits, or imitation (Richardson, R., n.d.). Continuously reprimanding the student could interfere with class instruction time while ignoring could cause others to mock the behavior- believing that it was acceptable. Educators have tried many intervention-strategies to see which one would work best. Some might have tried behavior contracts, but if the student is too young or simply not able to read or write, the teacher will have to make time to assist the student with the contract. Others had tried taking away minutes of the student’s recess/choice time. However, this means that the teacher’s time will again be affected. What is needed is a method that will decrease and eventually terminate the undesirable behaviors while simultaneously preserving teacher’s time. This study is to see if the rubber-band intervention method will do just that. The ultimate goal is to help students develop self-control.…

For the fixed cost, from exhibit 4, I subtract amortization from the total projected annual cost, and add one month deposit paid to the landlord, which is 87,789-19,414= $68,375. Then variable cost based on the sales, which in total equals $397,371. So gross profit would be revenue- total cost (fixed cost+ variable cost)= $134,854. Then subtract amortization from gross profit, EBIT= $115,440.…

Sixth grade is a wonderful year for students. The students have transitioned from the elementary school to the middle school. This transition can be both scary for the sixth grade teachers and their students. This week I had the opportunity to observe a fellow coworker teaching sixth graders social studies. To the least, I was impressed. This teacher really has things together. He is a second year teacher, and is familiar with the Charlotte Danielson’s framework. However, I do remember the framework frightening him last year. Yet, this year he is a more comfortable and engaging teacher.…
