Introduction:
How the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, on United States, changes the American view of Muslims? Some Muslims are being discriminated, some Americans feel uncomfortable around Muslims after 9/11 attacks and think that all Muslims are terrorists. Besides this, Americans believe that it is harder to be a Muslim in the U.S after 9/11 events.
Background of Event:
The September 11, 2001 attacks were the most deadly international terrorist attack in history and the largest attack on United States territory since the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. 9/11 attacks was about series of airline hijacking and suicide attacks committed by 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda who had targeted some territories in the United States of America.
First effect
Discrimination of some Muslim people in USA Specific research support: (Quote from the article)
Since Muslim Americans are part of American society, negative attitudes and discrimination would have detrimental effects not only on the recipients of the negative expression (Abu-Ras & Suarez, 2009: Rippy & Newman, 2006; Kira et al., 2010), but also on society at large.
According to me 9/11 attacks really had a bad impact on Muslim people in the USA as well as all over the world. Muslim people experienced a lot of discrimination 9/11 and still experiencing it.
Second effect:
Most of the Americans started thinking that all Muslims are terrorists and American Muslims had to face a bad time. They had to prove that they were not terrorists but wise citizens of the United States.
Specific research support: (Quote from article)
Analysts note that many Muslims have made efforts to prove their loyalty to the United States.
ADDITIONAL SUPPORT: Some Sikhs who wore Turban were also mistreated because they resembleed like Muslims. Third effect:
The 9/11 event changed the way Americans looked at Muslims because the terrorists who attacked were Muslims. Jihadi people were responsible for the attacks and not all the Muslim and Muslims in the United States experienced humiliation because of the same. Many Americans thought that Muslims are not trustworthy people and therefore adherents of the Muslim faith were harassed all over the United States.
Specific research support:
“The 9/11 attackers were labeled “Muslim terrorists” and evil personified was given a Muslim face.”
Conclusion:

Unlike the Japanese Americans during World War II the Arab Americans treatment from the government was not as bad in fact the government didn’t see them as a threat but the American citizens did, and were afraid that they might want to institute sharaia law and latter take over the government but of course not everyone thought like this. Before 911 Muslims were just normal American citizens but over night after 911 they instantly became a threat and concern in the eyes of the American people. As the Muslim community grew and they wanted to build worship places there was uproar of the American people who thought this to be a danger and possible meeting and planning grounds for extremist groups. They have begun to protest and taken this issues to the government. Some citizen vandalized and destroyed equipment to halt the construction of a mosque in the Murfreesboro.…

On September 11, 2001 at 8:46 am, a plane hit the twin towers in New York City; thus, causing an event that would kill 2,977 Americans. That first plane started the devastation of 9/11 and will forever mark a national tragedy. On 09/11/2001 four planes in three different locations were hijacked by terrorists and were used to attack America. At first this was looked at as a possible accident until the second plane crashed, it was clear in that moment that this was not an accident. President George Bush was alerted about this incident while at a Florida Elementary School, which caused him to go into immediate hiding. The events of 9/11 impacted the way America looks at society and terrorism. This is illustrated by the jarring events of the day and the reactions of Americans to this day.…

¨The September 11 attacks were precipitated in a large part because Osama bin Laden, the leader of the militant Islamic organization al-Qaeda Held native beliefs about the United States in the run-up to the attacks¨(The Plot). A little under 3,000 people were killed during 9/11. Everyone woke up normally getting ready for work or school, no one would have thought this would have been the worst terrorist attack in US history. People were surprised on how they planned all of the attacks and people to this day still wonder of where the Flight 93 was heading. People are scared everyday that this will happen again. After the bombing of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001, I think that the lives of Islamic Americans has been very tough. They got stereotyped as to pledging the same religion that Al-Qaeda use to justify/rationalize their crimes. That’s an unfortunate fact. Every time I see an Islamic women walking down the street wearing a hijab or culture clothing, I see that they always get funny looks or people just assumed they are terrorist. They have been singled out by airport security officers and that people had acted suspicious of them or called them offensive names. On that day, people grew hatred in their hearts against Muslims because they see them in the same way they saw the terrorists who committed that evil. Muslims have been ridiculed, told to "go back home" (even Muslims whose home is right here), been spat on, abused, beaten, murdered, and raped because they were associated with the terrorists simply because we they Muslim (even Sikhs who were mistaken for being Muslims were mistreated and murdered).…

On 9/11 many things changed, and our society was the main thing. Many of our everyday lives were changed because of one event that affected millions. Osama bin Laden did not just change the US with new types of security, he unified our country and made us realize how important staying together as a country was. His objective was to destroy the United States spiritually, physically and economically , but it had the opposite effect in some of those categories. He definitely underestimated the American spirit. Economically, we still haven’t recovered completely, no one has, but physically and spiritually we, as a country, came back stronger than ever, with renewed patriotism. One bad effect from the 9/11 attacks were stereotyping. Many people have stereotyped all muslims as terrorist and this is one of the most long lasting effects. Many muslims have to go through everyday life with being called cruel names like terrorist, when they have nothing to with the attacks on September 11th. The real people to blame are the ones involved with Al-Qaida and their leader, Osama bin Laden. Not only was there a bad effect on the US, but he presented his own religion to uneducated people, as religion filled with hate, when this is not the case. In conclusion, Osama bin Laden, in the end, didn’t only contribute something bad to our society, but he contributed something bad to his own society…

Must people now see the Muslims as the theorist “it’s all there fault… they caused 9/11”. Because of 9/11 it changed people’s mental view of the Muslims people say it’s their entire fault and because of that Muslims are getting the entire backlash still after fifteen years. But also some have never healed from the pain and just shut it all out. After 9/11 and ever since the air plane was high jack by the theorists the airports all over the world have changed. People were always more cautious mostly in the United States of America…

I have reason to think the biggest impact of 9/11 was that it caused the U.S. to go to war with Afghanistan for 11 years and the war is still going on. Because of this we have lost over 6,000 soldiers and still counting. There has been over 30,000 severely wounded soldiers. This also falls into economy impacts because the government needs to spend money to care for those soldiers. This also falls into economy impacts, the government has spent over one-trillion dollars just to support the war against Afghanistan. This is by far the worst impact of 9/11.…

It is ironic how a random search from a diverse group of people resulted in a room full of people with the same culture. 9/11 has impacted the way Muslim people are viewed, and has created the mindset that anyone who is Muslim is a possible threat. When the terrorists used their belief as an excuse for murdering people, it made many people believe that all Islamic people are murderers because of their faith. When travelling in airports or walking down a block in NY, Muslim people are treated differently, and more hostile overall. In fact it's been shown in experiments, such as the Buzzfeed experiment and through the well known show “30 days”. All in all, the truth is, 9/11 not only affected the lives of the 2,753 people and their families, but most likely affects the lives of thousand of Muslim Americans in the U.S today.…
