9/11 Paper

On the day of September 11, 2001 the World Trade center was attacked by the Al Qaeda terror network. They hijacked our own commercial air-liners and flew straight into the towers. It was not till May 1st of 2011 that we finally brought the head of the attack to justice. It was TEN whole years later for us to locate him and bring him down. He slaughtered 2,792 people just in New York City. Americans from all over the country gave over 2.2 billion dollars to help charities set up for 9/11. The country still mourns over dead relatives and brave men; we may never get over this terror attack on our own soil. The people of America were shocked by the fact that our security didn’t protect us the way they swore by oath they would. The only feeling in America’s heart was astonishment; some people had fear but most were just in shock. We couldn’t grasp the fact that they took our citizens and killed other people with them. As a whole, the American people were more separated than ever because we were bleeding. The security of our nation was severely heightened in the few months after September. Our airline security made it much harder to get on the plane with anything capable of taking it over, rules such as; no containers over 3 ounces of liquids can be brought, knives, and many other things are banned just because of this one day, one incident. One day makes it a hassle to fly on planes, caused new technology to be researched for heightened security. One day can mess up everything. This terror attack was the first on American soil, it wasn’t a bomb, and it was a plane of our own. That is the way this is vastly different then every other attack ever on American territory. The Al Qaeda network was like nothing we had ever faced before but now we are prepared for any card they are willing to throw at us. America has greatly strengthened every aspect of our defense to keep out any terrorist attack before it even has a chance to start. The day of September 11, 2001
