2. Corn mazes. We've all gone to corn mazes when we were kids. This fall, reminisce and go get lost among 6-foot-tall corn stalks!

3. Haunted houses. If you're the type that loves a good scare, you've probably been waiting for these all year. Go with your friends one night!

4. American Horror Story. The latest installment of the hit TV show, themed "Roanoke", premiered on September 14, and it's creepier than ever. And who doesn't love Evan Peters?

9/11 was a planned terrorist attack and was set up by Osama Bin Laden and was pulled off by four airplanes. One was for the white house and one hit a side of the pentagon and the other two hit the world trade center in New York. The attack was planned to take four airplanes and crash them into three designated targets one was the white house, another the world trade center, and the pentagon. The world trade center was the first target to be attacked then was the pentagon and the third one was hijacked by the civilians and tried to land it in a field in Michigan which was said to be going to the white house. When the planes hit the world trade center it caused a massive fire and people were jumping out of the building ending it all in one moment.…

Bush, behind closed doors, profited from the attacks. Abounding numbers of people hypothesize that the Twin Towers were blown down with explosives in selected locations. Some spectators racall hearing explosions wihtin the building as they attempted to escape.…

Andrea, I like the paragraph you pulled from the book because it really sheds light on the major changes of how life is lived now. To Ish, the great disaster is something he has experiences first hand where the younger members of the tribe have only heard of what happened. As generations continue the great disaster becomes history, another event in a book. The first hand experience is gone because all who lived during it have pasted. There is a world of difference between experiencing something and being told about something. It reminds me of 9/11, being that freshmen entering high school this past year are the first class to learn about 9/11 as history because they were not alive during it. It’s a foreign concept for me to think that student…

    5. In this course I have assigned a conspiracy debunking book on widespread conspiracy allegations concerning the events of 9/11/01. That book, compiled by the journal POPULAR MECHANICS: Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can’t Stand Up, attempts to silence the avalanche of suspicion triggered by attacks that day. You can obtain the essence of those suspicions by consulting the many "Truther" sites on the Web. To a general reader, explain what we ought to think about 9/11 in the wake of this confrontation over what actually happened on that fateful day and why. Explain why you reached this conclusion. Address this question: How successful can the most thorough debunking be in the wake of allegations of the sort made by the Truther movement? I own several books and CD's making the case for conspiracy for your use if you wish to consult one or more of them. Of course, the internet is full of that material. You might want to entitle your essay, “Can conspiracy doubts ever be put to rest?”.…

Each year people from the tri-state area travel to different haunted houses to experience some of the scariest moments of their lives. The scariest haunted house of the state is located in Tuxedo Park, New York, called The Forest of Fear. This event is more extreme than ever this year, containing five attractions for one admission price between $20 and $30. The five attractions are Uncle Jimmie’s Place, Das Kamp, Blind Panic, The Graveyard, and the Slaughterhouse. This haunted house is not recommended to children under the age of 12 due to the gory, disturbing characters walking throughout the forest. Sara Abouaf, a junior at LHS, is going to the Forest of Fear with the Lady Lions Soccer Team for team bonding the weekend of the 23rd. Sara stated,…

I love fall. I can imagine the sounds of leaves crunching underneath my boots, the smells of food being taken out on Thanksgiving, the tastes of a nice cup of apple cider, the sights of spooky decorations and bright pumpkins on houses, and the feeling of crisp autumn air blowing across my face. I love to watch the leaves turn red, orange, and yellow and flutter down to the fresh green grass, like warm colors of paint covering a bright green canvas. I always look forward to fall weather, and I also always look forward to the beautiful fall scenery. Because of the nice fall weather, I get to take more walks in my neighborhood and I also get to say hi to my neighbors. Even if my birthday is in the spring, I still love fall the most. Thinking…

First up is the Disney cult classic, Hocus Pocus, directed by Kenny Ortega (the man behind the High School Musical franchise). It’s set on Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts. What starts as an innocent trick-or-treating trip turns into something darker, when teenager Max Dennison (Omri Katz), his younger sister Dani (Thora Birch), and Max’s crush, Allison (Vinessa Shaw) explore a so-called “haunted” house. Legend says it used to be the home of three witches, the Sanderson sisters, and they can only be freed on Halloween night. Max believes it’s all made up, until he unintentionally resurrects Winifred, Mary, and Sarah Sanderson (Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and…

Halloween - Halloween Halloween is a holiday that is intrinsically linked with Death. With it’s roots tied into All Saints Day and Samhain, Halloween is wrapped up in death. However where All Saints Day and Samhain were serious events in culture, Halloween is a playful jab at Death. Nowhere is that more evident, then in the concept of the Haunted House. Death is not celebrated or embraced in this Halloween tradition, but rather it is used as a thrill, something to make life more exciting. As a child, I remember vividly the Haunted houses that the schools put up, and going to Knott’s Scary Farm.... [tags: Papers]…

Holidays are one of the best ways to get together with your family and friends. Autumn holidays include Thanksgiving Day and Halloween. The Thanksgiving holiday is a four-day holiday over the weekend. Families and friends usually eat a special meal together (usually with a turkey as the main dish). This meal also usually includes mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, several casseroles, and stuffing. Halloween is also a special holiday in the fall. Halloween is a holiday in many countries that is celebrated on the night of October 31st. Children wear costumes and they go to peoples' homes saying "Trick or treat!" to ask for candy and then people give it to them. This practice originally involved a threat. In this case…
