9/11 Reflection

On September 9, 2001, a plane crashes at the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:45 am. An hour later another plane crashes at Washington, D.C., and slams into the west side of the Pentagon military headquarters. Minutes after, the South Tower is hit by another plane. At 10:30 am, both the North and South Towers calliopes at New York City. 3,000 people were killed in the towers, including 343 fire fighters, 23 police officers, and 37 Port Authority police officers. 10,000 people were treated from injuries and many were severe. 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda were evicted and the leader of the group, Osama bins Laden, who was killed on May 2, 2011. How could this terrible thing even ever happen? For this to happen is like the chances for me to win the lottery. How wasn’t the US military or air force able to prevent this from happening? It just very depressing to find out how many people who died from this incident. But I cannot really feel the moment that most people had because I was only two years old, but I really can feel the intensity and soreness that most people feel about 9/11. Learning more about 9/11, I really wonder how the security is advanced now than twelve years ago when 9/11 happened. Founding out about 9/11, I really got to see how the nation got so much closer after 9/11 happened, and that it didn’t matter about your race or age. Many lives were changed after this dramatic incident happened. This incident makes me think differently now than I did before, about situations that happens in my life. Honestly, I really think that this should have never happened and that the US military and air force should have been aware of the fact that Al quad a was going to crash the World Trade Center. In addition, how did Al quad a get the air planes to be able to hit the buildings? For the fact that it happen, it killed many innocent people who were living there lives and did

I was 3 years old when the 9/11 attacks happened. At the time, I was too young to remember or to understand what was going on. When I became old enough to know what happened, I got scared because I thought that there could be another terrorist attack any day. I think that security should be a little better at checking people at airports considering the hijackers easily snuck weapons past them. All in all, I feel bad for all the families who lost loved ones. 9/11 was a tragic day in…

As we all know, on September 11, 2001 Muslim terrorists attacked the United Stated. They hijacked 4 airplanes in mid-flight. The first 2 planes flew right into 2 skyscrapers at the World Trade Center in New York City. Obviously, the buildings caught fire and collapsed. The third plane demolished part of the Pentagon (the US military headquarters) in Arlington, Virginia. The final plane crashed in Shanks Ville, Pennsylvania. Both articles agreed that exactly 19 terrorists hijacked the 4 planes; and that the attack was made by Al Qaeda, which was led by Osama bin Laden.…

The September 11 attacks were a series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States. On the morning of the attacks 19 of Al-Qaeda’s terrorists hijacked four jet airliners. The hijackers then crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and many of those who were working in the buildings. Both of the buildings collapsed within two hours of the collisions. Because of the collapse nearby buildings were damaged, even destroyed. The hijackers crashed the third airplane into the Pentagon which is located in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane was crashed into a field near Shanksville in Pennsylvania after some of its passengers attempted to retake control of the plane. Unfortunately…

On the eleventh of September, 2001, four planes set off bound for separate destinations across the United States of America. Little did the passengers know as they boarded these planes that they would never live to see another day, as Muslim hijackers were onboard the flights with the intention of launching a terrorist attack on the country. Two of the four planes were deliberately crashed into the Twin Towers in Lower Manhattan, New York City, killing thousands of people and injuring hundreds more. A third plane was flown, once again deliberately, into the Pentagon – the headquarters of the US Department of Defence – killing everyone on board. The fourth plane was bound for the country’s capital city, Washington D.C., but the passengers managed to stop the hijackers from reaching this destination and instead crashed the aircraft into a field in Pennsylvania. Everyone on board the plane was still killed, but they saved hundreds of innocent…

Many people have some understanding as to why it happened, but no matter how much we absorb, more questions arise in our consciousness. What made those terrorists take countless innocent lives while taking their own lives in the process of their heinous act? After 9/11, Americans were shocked that terrorists could hijack planes and destroy buildings and be responsible for the incredible loss of life. Needless to say, the 9/11 hijackers started out as unexceptional men, and the frightening thing about this is that there are more people just like them. Though it may be difficult to try and put a human countenance on these atrocious men, it is necessary in order to comprehend and combat the rising threat and influence of terrorism.…

The 9/11 attacks was not the first time when terrorists tried to take down the World Trade Center. The 1993 World Trade Center bombing would have become the day (9/11 day) of taking away thousands of innocent lives, but the terrorists did not succeed in their mission. According to Seth Cline in his article, “…two men parked a yellow Ryder truck in a public parking garage beneath the World Trade Center and detonated a half-ton bomb. The blast did not topple the towers, as the driver of that truck, Ramzi Yousef, had hoped.” Terrorists always wanted to bring the twin towers down. Two people brought half-ton bomb inside the building. It was strange that they passed the security check with the bomb. It gave an opportunity to the Unites States to keep the security at high level and save nation from the terrorist. It was one of the biggest warnings to the United States. Another, jets were used as weapon even before the 9/11 attacks. According to Philip Shenon in his article in The New York Times, “The F.B.I. knew by 1996 of a specific threat that terrorists in Al Qaeda, Mr. bin Laden 's network, might use a plane in a suicide attack against the headquarters of the C.I.A. or another large federal building.” Five years before the 9/11 attacks happened, the FBI also knew that students controlled by Al Qaeda in U.S. were learning how to fly plane. In those five years, they could have started the same security system at the airports as now. Nothing was done to secure the nation. The strongest departments in the world, the CIA and FBI, failed to act on…

This week included much activity with meetings, rain and the storm that never happened. Monday began with a Right on Crime communications meeting. It was interesting to sit through and hear what all was going on throughout the RoC organization. Then I went back to my desk to try and finish out the TPPF communications project I had been working on since Thursday. After lunch, I was informed about another weekly meeting with RoC, the policy call was also informative and I learned about what some of our signatories are doing in their states and areas. Following that Call, I finished out the day by finishing the communications project. Tuesday started out ordinary and I was able to finally begin the reading for the Thinking Economically class. Then it was time…

How the government handled the situation wasn’t the best, this caused way more security than what people really need. There is more security at airports, I understand for safety reasons but it causes some people to miss their flight. Also, Amerca the one was the one who made Osama, we did it. The U.S. are slowly invading into our privacy just to see who are we contacting and what we are doing. The fact that maybe about one or two years ago, the us wanted full control over Apple to see invade into peoples privacy. I don’t think that is fair enough for their…
