9/11 Reflection Essay

Mostly everyone knows about 9/11 and it goes down as one of the scariest days in U.S history. I can say myself that 9/11 has impacted me in so many ways to make me the person I am today. You may be wondering what I mean but surely enough by the end of my college essay, you’ll know exactly what I'm talking about. Since that day my life has been changed in so many ways. My Muslim background is very important to me and I take pride in it but people also have a different opinion on this religion. My parents always taught me that no matter what I was told that I should always be proud of how I was raised and that should never be changed with what anyone says. This essay will explain everything that my Muslim background taught me about being a strong person. September 11, 2001, was an emotional day for everyone. It was a month before my second birthday. I vaguely remember what happened but the one thing I do recall was sitting on my blanket and looking at the TV wondering what was happening. I was oblivious to whatever I was seeing but today I know exactly how hard it was. Once I was older my mom and dad explained to me that it was a hard day for them. This was because my dad had been at the World Trade Centers working
This college essay truly shows that I’ve made it this far and that nothing will stop me from going after my dreams. Now I look at the little freshman and look back on what I have accomplished during my four years of high school even with the obstacles that got in my way. I was able to get into the NHS, become a senior ambassador, and get my first job. Throughout all this my background and remembering what my parents taught me helped me stay strong and dedicated to what I was doing. So to any other person that reads this, I have a word of advice… “Don't think of yourself any less than you are and don't ever let the things around you change who you are at
