9 Skeletal Muscular System Flipped Resources
9Skeletal & Muscular System Flipped Resources

Student Learning Objectives
Central Concepts:
There is a relationship between the organization of cells into tissues and the organization of tissues into organs. The structures and functions of organs determine their relationships within body systems of an organism. Homeostasis allows the body to perform its normal functions. Explain how the muscular/skeletal system (skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles, bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons) works with other systems to support the body and allow for movement. Recognize that bones produce blood cells. For this unit you will submit all assignments through your shared “Flipped Resources”

Muscular System: The muscular systems is responsible for maintaining posture, circulating blood, and movement. Visceral muscle is found inside of organs like the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. The stomach secretes acid and enzymes that digest food. The muscular system also has another variant which is skeletal muscle. The skeletal muscles are attached to bones and move various parts of the body. The biceps, pectoralis major, triceps, nasalis, and deltoid are five major organs in the muscular system. The biceps main job is to control the movement of the elbow and shoulder. The pectoralis major make up most of the chest bulk. The triceps help extend and retract the forearm. The nasalis compress nasal cartilage. The deltoid is responsible…

Homeostasis is the need for an organism or a cell to regulate its internal environment (conditions within the fluid surrounding its body cells) by a system of feedback controls to stabilise health and functioning despite the outside changing conditions. This is important as this is what maintains and helps internal conditions (body temperature) to remain stable and constant.…

Homeostasis is simply how the body keeps conditions inside the same. It is described as the maintenance of a constant internal environment. Generally, the body is in homeostasis when its needs are met and it’s functioning properly. Every organ in the body contributes to homeostasis. A complex set of chemical, thermal, and neural factors interact in complex ways, both helping the body while it works to maintain homeostasis. In homeostasis there is the concept of Negative feedback which ensures that, in any control system, changes are reversed and returned back to the set level. There are four different homeostatic mechanisms for regulation these four are the heart rate, breathing rate, body temperature and blood glucose levels. Negative feedback system is made out of receptors to detect change, a control centre to receive the information and process the response and effectors to reverse the change and re-establish the original state. Homeostasis is the mechanism in our body that regulates and maintains a stable and constant environment. This enables our body to respond to changes in the environment around us as. The homeostatic mechanisms in our body, observe and monitor conditions and will then make a judgment whether to change the way the body functions is order to adapt to the outside surroundings better. The main organs involved in homeostasis are; the brain, liver, skin and kidney’s. The skin is involved as its acts as a protective layer and also regulates body temperature. The liver breaks down harmful substances and the kidneys regulate water levels and waste products. In the brain the hypothalamus controls everything and changing them to fit into the outside surroundings. Negative feedback is also linked in as it is the process of homeostasis. It is negative because it is in a negative situation and will not kick it unless there’s something wrong.…

    A. Homeostasis is defined as a condition of equilibrium in the body internal environment. For example the internal organs, behaviors, body temperatures. In homeostasis it can be considered as dynamic as it is always changing. The liver, kidneys, autonomic nervous system and endocrine system, and hypothalamus help maintain homeostasis. For example, my brother has imbalance homeostasis due to having seizures. Because his brain is not functioning correctly, his homeostasis is not balance.…

Homeostasis is the process within mammals where the body systems work together to maintain a stable response to a fluctuating environment within the body due to changes in the external environment and input into the body. The homeostasis process is used during blood sugar regulation within the body. This is the process whereby the body uses hormones to keeps the glucose levels in the blood at a stable level to ensure the body's optimum function.…
