Paranoid Schizophrenia is the most common type of Schizophrenia. It is a mental illness in which one loses touch with reality. Some of the symptoms of Paranoid Schizophrenia are: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized behavior, and lack of emotion. Examples of these symptoms throughout the movie A Beautiful Mind are: He has hallucinations that he has a roommate at Princeton, Charles. Throughout the movie Charles stays in touch with John. Later in the movie Charles’s niece appears and also remains in touch with John throughout the movie. He also hallucinates that Ed Harris is following him around to get him to break the Soviet Unions codes. Another symptom that is present in the movie is lack of emotion. During the movie he is just sitting there holding the baby while it is constantly crying and seems to not show any emotion towards it.

She became pregnant, but Nash refused to claim the child and put his name on the child’s birth certificate. Later in his life he married Alicia Lopez-Harrison de Larde in 1957. Soon after Alicia got pregnant is when John’s disease changed his life, schizophrenia. Around the 1980’s John’s disease had almost completely gone away.
