A Brief Summary Of Anne's Diary Of A Frank

The worst time in history, led by the most vile, yet charismatic person quiet possibly ever. Hitler. He was insistent on making a perfect race. Two Families, the Franks, and the Van Daans forced together in the most unlikely circumstances. One of very few families to survive the onslaught of Jews. Having to stay stealthy for upwards of two years you have to deal with some challenges that are out of your control. One of the Franks, Anne, deals with these challenges by writing in her diary, talking with one of the Van Daans ,Peter, and looking out of the window and pretending she is outside. One of the ways she deals with challenges that are out of her control is by writing in her diary. She can talk about whatever she wants because it is her diary. She didn’t know 30 million people would read it. She says things like, "Mr.Dussel, the man who said to get along so well with children and to absolutely adore them, has turned out to be an old fashioned disciplinarian and preacher of unbearably long sermons on manners." This is an example of her venting anger in her diary. She is mad at Dussle for lying and ferociously teaching her manners. She writes a lot of things such as this in order to relieve her anger.
Peter is the son of the Van Daans and is three years older than Anne is. Near the end of the play Anne and Peter finally make up. They then start talking with each other. Anne goes into Peters rooms to talk with him and get away from everyone else like Mr.Dussle and Mr. And Ms. Van Daan's pandemonium.
