Lytle has been serving on the Chamber of Commerce for almost a year, and was selected as Committee Chair of New Membership and Committee Chair of Food and Silent Auction.
“The purpose of the banquet is to fundraise and show the community how much we value and appreciate them,” Lytle said, “There will be a meal served, awards presented, various entertainments, prizes and an auction throughout the course of the evening.”

and Miss Anson High School, Anson Man and Woman of the Year, Agriculture Leader of the Year, and the announcement of the new Chamber of Commerce board members.
In order to save costs, Anson High School’s Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALs) students will be volunteering to help serve the meal. Molly Favor, Anson High School English teacher and PALs advisor said the event is a great outreach opportunity for her students.
“PALs volunteers at this event every year,” Favor said, “It’s a great way to show our involvement in the community and lend a helping hand. My students look forward to helping at the banquet because they get to find out who Mr. and Miss AHS is.”
Lytle said he guarantees anyone who attends will have a great time, and maybe win a prize.
“Whether someone who attends gets an award or not, the meal will be great, and I think everyone will get a kick out of the entertainment we have planned. I hope the community will come out and celebrate with us as we honor the individuals who have gone above and beyond this

Being a member of Best Buddies and SAVE, I demonstrate a strong sense of dedication for supporting others and lending a helping hand. The goals of both Best Buddies and SAVE are to further acceptance, embrace diversity, promote safety in schools, and spreading positive energy. As a student representative, my sole objective would be to help enlighten the school board and those in the community about the daily life at MHS, advocate for the 1,600 students currently attending, and respectively relay any helpful amendments that would benefit the Mukwonago Area School District. The multiple clubs I participate in and the copious amounts of friendships I developed with people that have contrasting passions also allow me to speak on behalf of a relatively large group of students. The students taking part in the same activities that I belong to range from freshman to seniors. The opinions of a freshman compared to that of a senior’s may vary drastically, and being a part of clubs with a sample of each year will give me an advantage to hear an assortment of…

In my Senior Year of being in the National Honor Society, I was excited to volunteer and to help those in need. I helped out with a soup kitchen in Brainerd through another organization that I am in, the Student Council. As I scooped soup into bowls and placed them onto people’s trays, I could see a look of appreciation and gratitude on their faces. This was the first time in my National Honor Society career where I understood just how much my time and effort meant to these individuals. This volunteer opportunity made me realize that a simple meal, smile, and effort to do something helpful and nice can really make someone’s day brighter or easier.…

Being on National Honor Society and sports teams throughout high school, I had enjoyed participating in many volunteer experiences before coming to Drake. Every year our basketball team would collect food around our community to be donated to various food drives in nearby cities. With only general assumptions about food pantries, I always wondered how they worked. Now, after being able to volunteer at the IMPACT food pantry over the last few months, my original assumptions about food panties has transformed. The service-learning class I took this semester challenged many other perspectives in my life.…

There were 65 teachers in attendance from the Waterloo school district. One young teacher came up front to speak during the time that the Board would listen to different information from individuals. She spoke of how frustrated she has become concerning all of the changes that are taking place all at once. She tried to encourage the District to focus on implementing only one or two initiatives at a time. There was also another woman that came up and thanked the Board members for their service to the community. She also spoke of the Empty Bowls Fundraiser and asked them to once again support this fundraiser. She stated that the money that is raised would go to the NE Iowa Food Bank. Last year they were able to raise over $13000.00…

Tuesday, December the eighth, I had my first experience volunteering. As an active member of Webster County High School’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) club, I decided that I would leave archery practice a few minutes early and head towards the Providence Food Bank. Every second Tuesday of each month, HOSA meets at the food bank at five-thirty to help prepare senior citizen boxes and assist people in shopping at the food bank. Intrigued by the opportunity to gain a few bonus points and support the club that I am passionate about, I figured why not give it a…

The Agronomist is about Jean Leopold Dominique who hosted Haiti’s first independent radio station-Radio Haiti-Inter. The documentary depicts the numerous regimes Haiti, the notoriously oppressed nation, went through and how Radio Haiti-Inter struggled for democracy. The Agronomist begins just after the 1991 overthrow of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, when Dominique and his wife, while at the radio station, came under fire from rebels involved with the coup. Dominique’s passion for reform landed him in exile, when he was released (instead of giving up) he started a career as a radio communicator, voicing the feelings of the poor and the powerless.…

Provide at least two modern examples of how the United States has increased its food production. Genetically modifying foods is one way the United States has grown its food increase. The use of genetically engineered crops has grown rapidly in countries such as the United States, especially for soybeans, corn, and cotton where GM crops make up between 70 and 90 percent of total production (Turk, 2014).
