Anson, Texas – AgriVader is helping plan and fund the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet on April 27th at 6:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Hall Building in Anson. AgriVader is a local business ran by Mr. Larry Lytle. Lytle said, “We are looking forward to a spectacular evening.”
Lytle has been serving on the Chamber of Commerce for almost a year, and was selected as Committee Chair of New Membership and Committee Chair of Food and Silent Auction.
“The purpose of the banquet is to fundraise and show the community how much we value and appreciate them,” Lytle said, “There will be a meal served, awards presented, various entertainments, prizes and an auction throughout the course of the evening.”
Lytle runs two businesses: B.a.L.L. Farms and AgriVader.
“The Chamber of Commerce only has two fundraisers throughout the year: the Miss …show more content…
Merry Christmas Parade and Pageant, and the Chamber Banquet,” Lytle said, “Because there are only two events, it’s important that we raise as much as we can, and spend as little as possible.”
Lytle said the chamber is trying to reduce costs as much as possible, and because the event is a fundraiser the chamber is trying to make money.
“There will be a cake and pie auction at the banquet, which will raise some money for us. Other than that, we only ask that every one in attendance purchase a ticket. The proceeds from the event are essential to everything [the Chamber of Commerce] does throughout the year. I was more than happy to help out with the payment for the evening, because I know it is going to a great cause.”
Lytle said the awards being presented throughout the evening are Mr.
and Miss Anson High School, Anson Man and Woman of the Year, Agriculture Leader of the Year, and the announcement of the new Chamber of Commerce board members.
In order to save costs, Anson High School’s Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALs) students will be volunteering to help serve the meal. Molly Favor, Anson High School English teacher and PALs advisor said the event is a great outreach opportunity for her students.
“PALs volunteers at this event every year,” Favor said, “It’s a great way to show our involvement in the community and lend a helping hand. My students look forward to helping at the banquet because they get to find out who Mr. and Miss AHS is.”
Lytle said he guarantees anyone who attends will have a great time, and maybe win a prize.
“Whether someone who attends gets an award or not, the meal will be great, and I think everyone will get a kick out of the entertainment we have planned. I hope the community will come out and celebrate with us as we honor the individuals who have gone above and beyond this
year.”
