A Career As A Child Care Assistant
I am writing to express interest in the Child Care assistant position open at Wellspan York Hospital. Working with children the last three years as a lifeguard, helped solidify my love of helping and dealing with people of all ages, especially children. My experience with York Hospital has been positive not only as a patient but also as a shadow student in the Advanced Procedure Suite where I was able to watch an Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscopy. I hope to give back to the community and also help others as a Child Care assistant. Working with children really is my speciality because I am creative, kind-hearted, animated, and I know how to get tasks done with professionalism.

I am lucky to come from family of public servants

    I did not design the lunch menu for my center; however, I serve it to my children on a daily basis. We use the CRMC food service, which has many benefits. One positive aspect is that there is no extra cost to the center, and enough food is delivered daily so that each child is served the appropriate proportions. My center works with the hospital to create a “short cycle menu,” a menu that is different everyday and repeats itself after a certain number of days, specifically a one-week cycle menu that is chosen by our director with faculty input. This cycle menu shows strengths because the children seem to enjoy a shorter cycle of fewer foods, and our director is able to control the menu to ensure that quality foods are served. The food served each day includes the food groups required for a balanced diet with whole milk. None of the meals contain potential choking hazards and all food is cut with food scissors for my age group. Each month, our center updates our allergy alert sheet, which is posted in every classroom. The staff complies to each child’s needs everyday at lunch and snack.
