A Career In High School
I worked at Mariscos El Fabuloso as a cashier for four months. I was able to work there because my uncle owned the restaurant for some time.
I'm going to be honest and say that this is the only employment history I have, but overall I'm an excellent student when it comes to math. I have always been an advanced student in Math. I took Algebra 1 in 8th grade in the mornings. That class is specifically for freshman's in high school. Next year I'm taking AP Calculus, which is usually said to be the the most rigorous class in school ( Hancock College

Before working at La Vitas II, I used to work at shop rite as a cashier. Even though a cashier and a waitress are very different, I know I learned a lot from there that I still use today as a waitress. Being a cashier at a super market makes you learn a lot about dealing with people on a day-to-day basis. Not everyone is good at working with the public because people can be very rude and most of the time you can’t say anything back, you just need to smile and work the situation out to make the customer happy.…

The vocational education that high schools offer means that students can have vocational classes like academic classes. In the vocational classes, students can learn about how to fix cars, how to cook, or how to make furniture. Students can have these classes three or even more times a week. In my view, high schools should offer vocational education because it benefits the youth a lot.…

The career that I chose to research was Middle School Education and Teaching. I chose this career because I have always liked going and being at school, I’ve always liked being able to learn new things, and be able to work and be with people every day. A teacher is an educator who provides education for students. Being a teacher can help students in many ways even out of the classroom. A middle school teacher normally teaches the grades sixth to eighth. The reason there is a middle school is to get the students prepared for harder classes in high school. A few things that a teacher does is prepare lessons, quizzes, and tests over the material that they learned. They can teach subjects anywhere from science, math, english, spanish, and any other courses that the school provides. Teachers prepare report cards, talk with the student's parents if needed. They also have to enforce rules and regulations and make sure all students follow them. Teachers don’t just teach they help students with their personal lives and help them grow up to be a better person in the world. Teachers provide and educate students on all core subjects and with learning life skills. A teacher’s work environment is normally…

Originally, I did not enjoy math when I was in Vietnam because the teachers focused too much on strict memorization, while giving little attention to applications. However, when I started school in America in my sixth grade year, my passion for math developed. Initially, it was the only subject in which I excelled, due to my disadvantage of not speaking English, but eventually finding an answer to a math problem would become an adventure for me. I never gave up on finding an answer even if it meant working from sun to sun. Throughout my high school years, I have always maintained an A plus in all of my math, science, and Latin courses. Also, I was the student who scored highest in my school, a 98, on the Algebra II End of Course exam. I presently taking College Algebra and…

The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that, “Almost all physicians complete at least four years of Undergraduate school.” The math that is required for you to take in college includes algebra and trigonometry. After completing the survey for my economics course it gave me a career field that I should consider joining based off of my answers to the survey. The field I was given was investigative. I agree with choice because I love to solve puzzles and work with things that makes me have to think to figure it out. Also, the investigative field is a good fit for me because the jobs that are involved in this field involve math which is one of my favorite subjects whether it be engineering or computer programming. Plus, with it being investigative I am not limited by the math field because I could also work in the medical field by being a doctor trying to find a malignant tumor. The two career paths I have decided on that stem from this career category would have to be computer hardware engineer or being a biomedical engineer.…

From a young age we’re asked what we want to be when we grow up, never how we expect to become when we grow up. I was well aware of what I wanted to become, but not sure how to get there until I started high school when my counselor explained to me the importance of having a full portfolio with a wide range of extracurricular activities. Then it became clear to me, I needed extracurricular activities to become who I wished to be. Throughout my high school career I’ve participated in several extracurricular actives such as math club, soccer and UIL One Act. In the future, I want to participate in these activities or anything similar to those I participated in high school.…

Throughout high school my activities list included cross country running, tennis, art club, mission club, choir, and managing for the girls basketball team. I also did numerous amounts of volunteer work through my school and a local hospital for all four years of high school. In college I then participated in intramural volleyball, relay for life, and an art club on campus. About a year into college I got a job working for a family practice office. The job description started off with helping an RN with work in a government program designed to help patients take more initiative with their health and therefore leading to less money spent on emergency care, etc. After time I earned adopting new jobs around the office such as front desk, scanning…

Throughout all my years as a high school student, I aspired to do something extremely beneficial to my community. Volunteering here and there for various clubs did not fulfill this ambition. After attending various programs that encouraged active initiative, such as UNC Catalyst Conference and NC Governor’s School, a self-realization occurred that urged me to finally be a “catalyst for change.” I am now the founder and manager of a student-based nonprofit called Musicians United to Support Incredible Causes (M.U.S.I.C.). The objectives include assisting the disadvantaged, benefiting higher level organizations, and expanding the reputation of music education.…

I have worked and pushed myself through my high school career from taking all non honors classes my freshman year, to honors my sophomore year, to then most of my classes being AP my junior and senior year. I have worked hard to get good grades and pushed myself into taking classes that would not only challenge me, but put me out of my comfort zone. Yet I have always been a hard worker. My parents such as myself are immigrants, I had to work hard entering a foreign school system where neither I or my parents knew the language. Easy homework tasks were difficult to complete yet I worked hard to get at the level of my peers by checking out books at the library and forcing myself to attempt to understand the words on the page. I continued…

I have always been the student to struggle with grades in school. I was never one who made straight A’s. I always seemed to make a few A’s mainly C’s. Junior High was a tough time for me, as well as high school. Almost every course I took in junior high and high school I struggled in. I suffered more in high school than I did in junior high. I seemed to always do terribly in the same three class; geometry, biology, and history. Looking at my final report card my sophomore year and seeing that I made not just one, but three D’s made me severely discouraged. I knew I was not doing as well in a few class but I had no idea how badly I really was doing. By seeing how poor my work performance was made me lose all hope. I then went into my senior…
