In the past it was a woman’s job to make everything perfect for the man when he arrived home. The Good Wife Guide provides perfect examples of wives pampering their husband. “Encourage the children to be quiet,” the house must be spotless, and there must be a “delicious meal ready.”(The Good Wife Guide,1) This is called babying a growth man, who could help the wife but chooses to be pampered. Women were constantly insulted back in the past. Woman also couldn’t do anything to stop this issue. Many had to endure being call “squirrel” or “little featherbrain.”(Ibsen, 2) Which is insulting to a woman’s intelligence. In Henrik Ibsen’s, A Doll’s House, Helmer is Nora’s husband. He has a tendency to call her an assortment of special words. Some being squirrel, little featherbrain, spendthrift, and playbird. As of now women are still insulted in today’s society. Although, there have been more positive and supportive compliments directed towards women. Insults may never go away but at least it’s not as terrible as it was a few decades
