Flannery O'Connor's A Good Man Is Hard to Find, is about a family traveling to Florida. The family starts there journey with Bailey (the father), the mother, June Star, John Wesley, and the grandmother. But the family did not know that grandmother had snuck her beloved cat into the car. The Grandmother was trying to change the mind of the father to travel to east Tennessee to meet with her connections instead of traveling to Florida. The grandmother tried everything in her power to change the course of there destination. bringing up news paper articles showing that a criminal was on the loose heading to Florida, the grandmother said " Here this fellow that calls himself The Misfit is aloose from Federal Pen and headed toward Florida and you read here what it says he did to these people. just you read it." (O'Connor; p.397).
The grandmother offering to help with the children anyway she could being very supportive on the long journey. The grandmother started telling the family about a plantaion not to far from the route they were heading down. The children jumped at the oppertuntiy to see the house while the parents of John Wesley and June Star. The family stopped at The Tower for barbecued sandwiches for lunch, inside they met a man and his wife who worked and owned The tower. The family made small talk with the husband and wife, and grandmother asked them if they had heard about The Misfit.
