A Hero's Journey Research Paper
Stray Day 1

I was excited to begin the journey because it would be full of adventures. I made sure I packed everything I needed and said good bye to my parents. Then I headed down to Rabbit Flats.
It was really a long way to my first destination. I walked and walked and walked. When I reached Willow Marsh, I rested a little beside a tree. Then again I traveled. A little before dawn, when my legs were starting to ache, I arrived at Rabbit Flats.
I was really hungry, so I searched for rabbit holes, and finally I found a small den which kind of looked like a rabbit would live inside. I decided to set fire in the hole and smoke it out. The smoke came whirling around, and soon my beautiful flames started to burn. I blew at the flames, not too hard and not too weak. And there it was, a perfect fire to drive the rabbits out. I set the fire at the den and soon a light-brown-furred rabbit came storming out of its house. Quickly, I picked up my bow and arrow and aimed

My arrow flew fast and speedy, and it hit directly at the animal. My first hunting was a success! Happily, using my fire, I cooked the rabbit and ate

The journey across the field was not easy. The crows frightened me the most because I have heard many tales at potlucks about crows eating little leprechauns like me. I finally made it, and standing in front of me was a rather large contraption. I always assumed it was a hill, but now I knew it wasn’t. It was square, made of wood, and had steps leading to a red door. I realized without a doubt that it was a human house. I found a crevice that I could squeeze into. Us leprechauns are good at that sort of thing. The crevice led into a slightly larger opening perfect for a leprechaun. I slept for a long time, tired from my long journey across the field. When I finally woke up I was hungry and decided to explore. At the end of the passageway was a huge room. There was rows of shelves filled with shoes. I realized I hit the gold pot, this was a shoemaker’s house. I loved making shoes! I forgot my hunger and set to work finishing a pair of shoes on the floor. During the days I watched the family and customers in the…
