A Knight's Tale is a great movie and has a great lesson throughout as well. The character William Thatcher proves you can change your destiny, but only with a lot of hard work and determination. William is determined, brave, strong, and honorable. He fights for what he believes in. He knows if he keeps pushing himself to get better and get his friends to help him out, they will all change their destiny and will live a better life. Instead of being known as a slave/peasant.
William Thatcher grew up as a peasant whose father wanted a better life for him. William wanted to be a knight, but his dad knew if he stayed with him he would never be able to become a knight. John Thatcher, the father of William, sent him off to be a servant for a knight, Sir Ector. He did this so William could learn from the knight and push for his dreams of becoming a knight one day. William and his party traveled to the World Championships. William takes wins after wins like nobody else, and pushes himself to get to his goal. He was not intimidated by a single knight that was there to go against. At the end of the day, he was caught visiting his father on the other side. Adhemar alerted the authorities right away that William was not fake. William refused to back down and kept pushing himself to get to his goal and win. He ended up in jail and on death row. But his friends never left his side and tried their best to help him as much as they could, but they didn't have much luck. Suddenly a well known man William had once done a favor for during a jousting came to light. It was Prince Edward who came through for William as he was returning the favor for William once he let him win a jousting.
