A Life After The Battle Of Edward Daein
Life in Daein after the battle against Ashera had been tough. The people of Telius had come to accept that Ashera was their Goddess and all good things happened through her, for her to be cut down was unthinkable. What they didn't know was that they had been turned to stone with no recollection of the event beyond a vague and fuzzy awakening. Life for the nation leaders hadn't been easy since the change, between rebellions, church uprisings, and internal struggle there was nary a moment of rest, though thankfully it did end the beorc-laguz war. Many of the warriors that fought in that war struggled to fall back into their old lives, some were happy while others were less content to live in a world of peace. One happy to be done with fighting …show more content…
Looking at it was fascinating, for now it was small and confined to one area, having no noticable effect for the entirety of the day. The next morning, it had grown to an unimaginable size and it seemed to swallow up the sun and light but in the sky figures could be seen coming from it. Edward awoke to panic, fire, screaming, and the familiar smell of death and it had come to suddenly! Gripping Caladbolg he exited his shack and immedieatly was forced to sidestep a swipe of a sword from a man, ashen grey in color. His face was emotionless and showed no sign of life but still he moved and attacked fluently, forcing Edward to parry deathly strikes repeatedly. Seeing an opening Edward slashed his blade across the man's body as he fell to one knee. Edward turned to see if there were any others around but hearing a sound behind him he turned and nearly lost his head as he rolled away, the man he had nearly slashed in half stood in front of him ready to fight again. "What in Yune's name..." he muttered raising his blade again, his blood boiling in a way it hadn't since that fateful day. Dodgeing a stab and upswing he circled around and cut the man's hand off then nearly cut in into another piece letting his last strike cleave the neck of the …show more content…
He wondered if everyone at the palace was ok and quickly made his way over, avoiding creatures anytime he was able. Alone and on a mission he made quick progress and upon arriving was dismayed to see the castle had sustained some damage already and guards missing at the front gates. Moving foward slowly he heard a familiar voice. "Hold your fire!" rung out in the sudden sharp silence. Edward looked and saw Leonardo, his face was as serious as the situation for once "Hey, is everyone ok? Have any of the creatures made it inside?" Edward inquired. The captain of the archery squad said nothing but nodded, not about to lose the castle to some otherwordly forces. Needing no further encouragement Edward made his way inside, past many familiar faces but not stopping to chat with any of them. Finally he reached the audience hall and burst in looking for

The book 1066 The Year of the Conquest by David Howarth is an overview of one of the most important years in England’s history. At the start of 1066 the death of King Edward would spark a series of events that would eventually lead to the changes in England. Throughout the book it discusses this dramatic year and all these events that took place from various different perspectives. These stories are from contemporary sources from all sides of the conflict explaining their perspective of what was happening during this time. As one might expect, the people living through this will obviously form bias opinions based on where they are from. Howarth does a great job of staying neutral, giving him the ability to tell every story as it is while also adding his own personal insight. In addition to the various perspectives, he does a great job of bringing forth a historic event and not holding it to today’s standards.…

The American Revolution refers to the period during the last half of the eighteenth century in which the Thirteen Colonies that became the United States of America gained independence from the British Empire. This article by David Dzurec explains how the experiences of prisoners of war during the American Revolution helped those fighting to gain American liberty. Dzurec has mentioned that the “barbarous and cruel nature of British treatment of prisoners allowed those, who supported the patriot cause to highlight the difference between themselves and their former colonial masters” In addition the author says, prisoners’ accounts appeared in newspapers, broadsides, and individual volumes, the plight of captive Americans became a form of shorthand…

They asked for a volunteer to perform the task, and I gladly accepted.” Standing too far away for his daggers to be effective, although easily remedied very quickly, Nightburn could only smile and laugh at this simplistic attempt on his life. Why he felt so confident, he could not answer, but he knew if the man approached him, the man would die. Agitated by Nightburn’s demeanor, the man stepped forward, daggers raised. Instinctively raising his hand, everything froze, and totally incognizant of how he accomplished such a feat. Rising from his chair, he walked around the room and observed that nothing moved, even the flames of the oil lamps stood perfectly still. He walked to the door and opened it to see Sara stopped in mid-stride halfway down the corridor, then turned back to his room, noticing the clock pendulum had also stopped in mid-swing. Most curious, he thought, time had stopped and he didn’t know how he had achieved this or how he would correct it. Walking over to the would-be assassin, he studied his armor more closely, certain that he had not seen the emblem he wore or the knight in the castle before tonight as he carefully removed the daggers from his hands. With a swift slash to the neck, he ended his life, although no blood flowed from his wound nor did he fall or feel the fatal…
